Who is self studying and who is taking the course? Where are you in terms of topics/studying now?

I took AP Micro sophomore year, so I’m a bit rusty on some economic concepts. I won’t be taking the class until January, so this might be interesting. Might as well self-study in advance, if I have time.

I’m taking it this year as a junior, but not until second semester.

I’m taking this via Virtual High School. I’ve heard its an easy course so I’m not too worried. Except for the fact that it will take up time with other classes. I’ll be a junior. Anyone else taking it on VHS?

Taking the course!

Taking both Macro and Micro

@AtypicalAsian on VHS? Or in school?

I’m taking ap macro/micro online

I’m taking this and Micro online. Should be fun. Just finished Unit 1.

Where are you guys taking Macro and Micro Online? My school doesn’t offer AP courses?

Many counties have their own kind of online education system. Fairfax County has Online Campus. You should just probably talk to your counselor and see what online program your county offers. Alternatively, you could just take it via VHS (Virtual High School i think…)

i’m self studying this

Hey, what prep books are people who are self-studying this using? I heard 5 Steps is probably the best way to go, any other good suggestions?

How much math is involved in the subject if any?

So far, it doesn’t look like much math is involved. The College Board answered this question on its website though.
Does an AP Economics student have to be strong in math?
Graphical analysis is an important part of each exam, and some tabular analysis is included. But for the most part, the basic skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are sufficient. --

Taking Macro first semester and Micro second semester as a junior. Any review book recommendations?

I’m taking Economics online. It’s a combination of Macro and Micro but we’re doing Macro stuff first. Concepts are easy. Just too much reading because it’s online. I take it through Virtual High School.

I found some good practice questions with solutions here:

[AP Macroeconomics review](http://www.learnerator.com/ap-macroeconomics)

is this something that would be difficult to self study?

I’ve finished reading all 332 pages of required reading for McConell/Brue Macroeconomics section (there were probably like 50 pages of extra info like review that I skipped over). Now I’ve got about 330 pages of Microeconomics left.
