***OFFICIAL AP Physics C Thread 2013***

2 part d is literally an AP Calc problem, which I think is stupid. Test on the physics, not the math.

Those answers look right @FastNeutrino. I also think part d is stupid, considering I’m not taking calculus or any math at all this year so I’m really rusty. I completely forgot to separate the variables (I put dt and dv on opposite sides of where they should have been). Hopefully it doesn’t make a difference in my score…

Thanks for #2!

Can Someone Please do# 3 On the Mech?

ATTENTION ANYBODY WHO HAD FORM E:
What did you guys estimate for the linear acceleration in Mechanics Question 3? Did you guys get around 27?

So I’m pretty sure I only got like half credit on the 3rd open ended but still have a good shot at a 5 since I did really well on the first two. I just need like 15/35 on the MC, which even with a few guesses I’m pretty sure I have a good shot at.
This is exciting. =P
@Nutmeg: No problem! Thank god I didn’t submit my #3 to the forum though… it’d have to get torn apart. =P

Which form was released? The O one?
I got a different set totally.

Is it true that the mark for a 5 has gone up from 53 to 60 because of the fact that penalty has been removed ??

No, if you take a look at the scoring worksheet here for Physics B and C: <a href=“Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board”>Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board;

On the top, you can see that the College Board has already changed the scoring guidelines to be accurate with the removal of the guessing penalty.

The problem is that I heard the AP Chem boundary went up from 100 to 110 for a 5, so I’m assuming something similar may happen to the AP Phys

I probably got a 3-4 on Mechanics and a 2 on E&M. Mechanics was okay, I guess, but E&M was like nothing we’d ever done in class. I can’t even bring myself to look at those sample responses.

Guys, if I miscalculate the time on the multiple choice part and basically just guess Cs in last 10 in AP electricity, is there any possibility to get a five…so sad…

Does anybody have solutions to the mechanics free response (or the E&M, for those who took it)?

I’m taking the late exam tomorrow. Any tips?

i took the late exam, pretty sure i nailed the 3rd question involving calc
(take the derivative of sqrt[(1/12*ml^2+mx^2)/mgx]

Preliminary stats posted here:

[2013 AP Exam Score Distributions](<a href=“2013 AP Exam Score Distributions”>2013 AP Exam Score Distributions)

Hey!
I made this page and I guess I will be the first to post my AP Physics C scores!

Predicted:
Mechanics - 4
E&M - 2

Actual:
Mechanics - 5
E&M - 2

On my Mechanics exam I only answered 20 of the 35 multiple choice and I only answered half of the free response section!
For electro I self studied but only studied the electro part, not any magnetism.

Yay for AP Scores!

@fluteman747
How did you get your AP score so early???

Some people have their ap scores updated on their college portal.

How did all my East Coast friends do?

west coast here (shhh)

5 on mech and 4 on e&m

I expected to do pretty well on mech, but the curve on e&m must have been suuuuuuuuuuper nice

I only answered the last frq and not even all of it and i basically left the first two blank, and i thought the multiple choice was much tougher than the ones i took in practice, so i really had no hope for e&m, thought i got a 2 or 3. So happy right now.
