OFFICIAL AP Psychology Thread!

Which one, grief? I think we should set up an aim chatroom, this thread goes so fast, anyone in?

no idea about this =(

i don't have aim =( only msn...
does anyone have msn??

can someone explain Premack Principle more clearly and detailed? thanks (:
and variable schedules are more resistant to extinction because since you don't get reward everytime, you try harder. Or you don't know when the reward is going to come, so you would do it all the time..
such as, Pop quiz..

sry this explaination kinda sux...please correct if im wrong

I have msn too. That explanation seems right to me.

Okay, the premack principle is using a naturally occurring high frequency response to reinforce and increase low-frequency responses. EXAMPLE: If you really like ice cream, but don't like studying, and you force yourself to study before you eat ice cream, you are using this principle. Doesn't make much sense to me either...

Read the Barrons example on pg 93 for an explanation/example.

btw I'm back =D

ok so basically, premack is like...depending on individual interest kinda?
and do u noe about stages of grief?

Q: Define and explain constructionist/ecologist/computational ways of perception.

welcome back (:
btw llpitch do u have msn?
do u think its better if we all review together on msn?

Grief (at least according to my text, haven't seen this in Barron's): Numbness, Yearning, Despair, resolution.

msn would be great for me, if anyone wants.

I don't have msn. I have AOL/AIM.

ok so basically, premack is like...depending on individual interest kinda?

exactly

Don't worry guys, just know all the terms and you're all set for the exam. Oh, remember to BS well on your essays too.

yeaa ive never heard of greif...hmmm
can reversepsych explain it ):?

my msn is : sharon_1372@hotmail.com
and i asked a Q: Define and explain constructionist/ecologist/computational ways of perception. if anyone wants to answer it (:

Define and explain constructionist/ecologist/computational ways of perception.

idk =[

^What does that even mean?? WAh.

Anyone want to chat/study on aim, just message me.

More Q's =D

Q: What is selective attention?

Q: What is the difference between iconic memory and echoic memory?

I'd rather not do it on AIM because this is actually turning into a really great study guide for next years Psych people. Plus I like the time interval between posts, it lets me read in Barrons between posting =]

ok let's just do it here (:
mkay, i'll explain my question...checking textbook
Answer:
Computational approach- an approach to perception that focuses on how computations by the nervous system translate raw sensory stimulation into an experience of reality.

Constructivist approach- a view of perception taken by those who argue that the perceptual system uses fragments of sensory information to construct an image of reality

Ecological approach- an approach to perception maintaingin that humans and other species are so well adapted to their natural environment that many aspecrts of the world are perceived without requiring higher-level analysis and inferences.

@llpitch
selective attention- people select what stimulus to detect...such as "cocktail party effect", "figure-ground"?? not sure..

Iconic memory is visual encoded, and echoic is auditory encoded

^ Correct =]

Q: Differentiate between the Three-Box/Information Processing Model and the Levels of Processing Model. (Memory question)

information processing model is encode-->restore-->retrieve?
level of processing states that how well you remember sth depends on how deep you process it; so if you merely rehearse(repeat over and over again) you wouldn't remember well. instead, you should ask yourself questions, take notes...etc to deeply process it
lol hopefully i make sense;p

I guess all the mainlanders went to bed =[
