Q3: what are overt and covert (related to perception)?
Q4: what is spreading activation?
Q5: identify and explain the Intelligence theories.

^Me too, I never got it. Can anyone help?

Split-brain patients can't speak about information received in the right hemisphere since the left hemisphere controls speech. Does the left hemisphere control the right visual field (I didn't read about the senses yet)? If so, Sara would able to name (?) it. I think she could point to it as well.

Guessing the left hemisphere controls the right visual field of each eye, you'd probably use your right hand (because it's the left hemisphere that gets the message and controls the motor function of the right half of the body)?

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

What are the levels of processing?

levels of processing..
is that like, when you process an info deeply you remember it for longer?

Um, not quite.

According to Craik and Lockhart, the levels of processing model states that how long and how well we remember information depends on how deeply we process the information when it is coded.

Shallow processing--structural encoding emphasizes structure of incoming sensory information

deep processing--semantic encoding that involves formaing an association meaning to a sensory impression and result longer-lasting memories

self-reference--processing info deemed important or relevant, making it easier to recall

Children who observed violent behavior are more likey to execute violent behavior when comparted to children who were not exposed to violent behavior.

Stage 1: light sleep, theta wave, hypnic jerks
Stage 2: sleep spindles, theta and delta
Stage 3 and 4: slow wave sleep, delta
Stage 5: REM, beta"

Don't forget Hypnagogic, which comes before Stage 1.

Also, no such thing as "Stage 5" You go through 1-4 then backwards 4-1 and then into REM, then 1-4, 4-1, etcetera
