Hey guys since i got a 3 on AP chemistry, should i retake it?

@Rider43 yes u shud, anything below a 5 is unaceptable and indicative of poor effort

^ Says the guy who can’t use simple English…

Lol Thanks But seriously, should I?

@manmadeofbacon dont hate its a bad habitr

And a big thank you to the almighty proxy!

@Rider, it really depends on where you’re thinking of applying to and whether you want credit or not. Some schools gives you credit for a 3. Some are looking for 4s, others only want 5s, and some schools (Dartmouth comes to mind) doesn’t take anything. Do a bit of research on your prospective school(s) AP policies.

If you’re not looking for credit and are worried if a 3 will affect your college application, don’t worry. A 3 is fine. If you’re really paranoid, you can always choose not to list the test score on your Common App, and they’ll never have to know!

I’m super happy! I wasn’t expecting to do so well, honestly. Especially a 5 ON PHYSICS?!?

Despite the disappointing 4 on Stats, I got National AP Scholar, so that makes up for it.

Calc BC: 5/5

total: 5 5’s, 2 4’s

APUSH: 4 (really wanted a 5, but oh well)
English Lang: 4 (though I would get a 5, but again, oh well
Psych: 5

Hi all…so im a rising hs junior and heres what I got for my soph APs:

AP Biology - 5
AP Comp Sci A - 5 (YAYAYAYAY! I self-studied this one)
AP Microeconomics - 5 (nice!..I wasn’t sure, I felt like I was on the cusp)
AP Macroeconomics - 5
AP World History - 4

My Freshman APs were:

AP Environmental Science - 5
AP Human Geography - 5
AP Statistics - 5
AP Calculus BC -5

In 8th grade: AP Calculus AB - 5

My question is…should I:

a) Withhold AP World
b) Retake it next year
c) Kill myself for worrying about it…its not that big a deal right???

Do the adcoms at prestigious universities look at this and say…well he didn’t do so well on AP World?

Thanks!!!

nsquared2: If you think you’ll continue to beat yourself up over it, there’s no harm in retaking it. Although, in all honesty, most students would kill to get the kind of scores you’ve received so far, so with all 5s and only a single 4, I personally wouldn’t worry about it at all. When considering admission, colleges take little to no consideration of AP scores. Even the most prestigious universities could care less about one 4 when you have 10+ 5s. College admissions isn’t all about perfect numbers.

So yeah, stop fretting and BE PROUD OF YOURSELF! As a sophomore you’ve already taken 10 AP classes and gotten 5’s on 9/10 of them and a 4 (still a great score) on just one. Relax, you deserve it.

You deserve to get rejected from top colleges not because you got a 4 on AP World, but because you think getting a 4 on AP World is bad. Your lack of sense is hilarious.

APUSH: 5
Lang: 5
Lit: 5 (Really excited about this one, especially since my class did NOT prep me for the test in the least, and only 7 percent got fives…)

I might not have taken eight tests like some of you, but I’m really pleased with myself
Thank goodness for that proxy.

Calc BC: 3 ( Im crying right now and wanna scream!! )
Chemistry: 3 ( Expected but ya…)
APUSH: 4 ( Expected. Didnt spend much time on this class at all)

Overall im happy but kinda disappointed!

Chemistry: 5
I BS’d a couple of the FR and some of the multiple choice were like “how am I supposed to know this” but I left the exam happier and more energetic than I had entered it. I liked the organic chem FR, and I remember looking at the first MC at the beginning of the test and feeling dreadful.

USH: 5
Essays were nice although I started one of them wrong and had to cross out like a page of nonsense. This year’s DBQ was the best DBQ ever, since post-Civil War slavery was a topic of one of the essays we had to write for class in the middle of the year. I don’t remember much about the multiple choice, but I do know I had no idea with some of the questions pertaining to events in the 1950’s and onwards.

I feel sorry for those who had to take Bio this year… the percentages are gross (I took mine last year, haha). Still, CC is being CC and I see quite a few 5’s around.

Overall, I’m looking forward to senior year. My school doesn’t offer AP classes, but I’ll try to take the AP Physics exam next year if I don’t fall into senior slump too much.
