Honestly, I feel like I could have guessed my way to a 3 or a 5. I think I got a 5 on both interpersonal parts, and maybe a 4 on the essay and presentational speaking? If I get like 75% MC I think that’s a 5, but 50% is like a 3 :/

Same. It was either a hit or miss for me. Too nervous.

Any juniors or underclassmen taking Spanish Lit next year? I’m considering it. I do want to continue if I don’t do so hot on this test, but if I do well I want to try some other elective. :)

I want to take it too, but I doubt I’ll take the AP test. I just want to keep up with my Spanish and that’s the only option.

For the presenational writing and speaking, I didn’t cite my sources… I made sure to use them all with quotes and reference, I but I never cited them. I just said “El articulo dice…” or “[The person] dijo que…” is that fine? Or will I get marked down a lot… Cuz I wrote a 2.5 page essay… but didn’t cite it… I hope I get a 3 or 4/5 on the essay.

If I wrote in the future tense for the letter, do you think ill get all the points off? I think my grammar and stuff was still good, as in I used subjunctive and correct, complex grammar, I can still get points?

Guys, let’s all take a deep breath and abandon this thread. We will all get worked up for nothing, and it’s not like we can control anything now. Hopefully we’ll get the scores we want in July.

Not sure if you guys understood the prompt for the essay, unless you’re just being vague because of the 48 hour thing–yeah I know someone that thought the main topic was about something else than what it actually is. (My score is likely not high due to repetitive use of words because I forgot some transition words etc, but yeah)

I think the interpersonal speaking question was sort of biased towards graduating seniors…

Well, this exam is the hardest one to gauge how well I did. Maybe in the 3 range for me? Grr, I think the hardest thing was finishing the reading part which I had to skim the second to last passage and guess the last one, even though I heard the last passage was easy.

What would happen if you didn’t cite any of the sources in the presentational part but mentioned the info in all the sources many times?

I agree with TheKongo
Buena suerte, estudiantes. Voy a abandonar Uds.

DS took the AP Spanish exam yesterday. He was self-studying for the exam and was not enrolled in a Spanish course. Unfortunately, the school announcements came on during the listening portion so while the exam continued, it was rescheduled for May 23. Students may either repeat just the listening portion or the entire exam. My son is torn about what to do - repeat the whole thing and risk doing worse or repeat only the listening portion. Any advice?

My overall thoughts on the test:
I have no idea what I got.
The listening was absolutely impossible for me. I guessed on probably 80% of the questions. I wasn’t expecting it to be easy because it’s a weak skill for me, but I did much better on practice stuff than yesterday.
I thought the reading was incredibly easy. I did a lot of preparation for that and I’m glad I did. I think I nailed it as long as I didn’t get the opposite meaning from each one.
Writing was okay. The informal writing was super easy, but the essay topic was hard to synthesize. I don’t know, I felt like I summarized a lot. I didn’t do any personal experiences like some of you are mentioning, but I definitely connected the three sources to each other and added in a little bit of my own thoughts so I still think I did pretty well.
Speaking…oh my. The interpersonal I think I did all right on. We had to speak 6 times and I think about 4 of my answers were really good. I started off bad because the girl beside me started to say the exact same things as me for the first answer and I got distracted. Presentational was a MESS. I had technical difficulties and could not record until 20 seconds in so there will be a huge empty spot of me not talking and I’ll get points off. Then, I wasn’t really doing that well anyway and I completely missed the fact that the listening source was about a RUNNER! I thought she was just talking about running to train for taekwondo (sp?). I think I just rambled and sounded very unintelligent.

Anyone else anxiously awaiting their score at 4:45 in the morning right now? No? Just me? Okay.

I got a 5 oh my god i am crying

Me too!!! ahhhh

A 5! really nervous cuz it was my first AP, but yay!

Does anyone know the breakdown of scores?

Ugh… There was an error with part of my exam and part of it had to be readministered

Scores have held steady in AP Spanish Language this year: a smaller percentage of 3s, but higher percentages of 1s, 2s, and especially 4s.
Multiple-choice: students typically earned higher scores on the reading questions than the listening ones.
Students performed at similar levels across each of the 4 writing & speaking questions: ow.ly/mloQ1

Anyone happen to know what the percentages were this year for the nonstandard group (the one that includes native speakers)?

The one above. The stats that epdenja posted are for the nonstandard group.
