Official AP Statistics Thread 2012

Don’t know if I would say the test bored me but the FRQs were really easy. MC were tough though but I think the Frqs will get me a 5, certainly a 4.

Thanks MarioKart!! Maybe the immense relief the FRQs gave me over the m/c is clouding my judgement… but I think i did did good on frq… minus one part…

Sorry but that was spell check…

But board~bored if you didn’t get it

I feel like that test was too easy.
I finished the multiple choice part really early, so I wrote a story about a princess trapped in a tower guarded by an evil dragon named the college board.

What do you guys think the curve will be? Like a number estimate out of 100.

Is this score calculator pretty accurate? I hope so… [AP Pass - AP Statistics Calculator](AP Statistics Test Score Calculator - AP Pass)

I think it’s accurate, but accounting for the level of difficulty of the test, what would be a more accurate estimate for a 5?

for any AP test, use appass.com its an AP Test Calculator, so you just put in what you think or hope you got on each section and it will do all the calculations for you. Super quick and easy to use for any AP test.

Am I the only one crazy scared about the mc…I agree the frq was very straightforward but im afraid the mc ruined it for me :(

Some of them were tricky

yah some of the mc was tricky…wht were some specific mc problems?

I’m not going to mention specific parts of specific questions, but #1-5 on the FR seemed really easy and I was able to complete them in like 30 minutes. I failed parts of #6 and it took me another 30 min before I realized, oh hey, you have to scale the data on #6 before finding the standard error.

95% sure (hehe) I’ll get a 5. Too bad MIT doesn’t accept AP stats credit :/

^hm. no wonder the standard deviations didn’t make sense for me

anyone else think that the multiple choice was just a bit harder than usual?

MC was killller!

But FRQs were okay, so I guess they balanced out? Haha

lol yeah I guess. it’s just that there were more theory-based questions on the mc I think

How did you find the 2 standard errors on #6

It took me the longest time to figure out the spinner question lol, but I think I eventually got it. I could not figure out #6, but I started to. For the phone survey question, I didn’t conclude.

You have to scale the data before finding the standard error on #6.

Guys, you shouldn’t be talking about the free response questions. Even vaguely referring to them is a bad idea. CollegeBoard can find this and legally, with the help of CC, invalidate your scores.

But to mattcTN, the calculator can do everything that the distribution charts display. I almost never use the distribution charts in the class, as I know the calculator steps to get the same answer. If you know the stats functions of your calculator as if it were second nature, the course becomes a whole lot easier.
