@AnniiT Okay good! Most of my friends thought it was easy too, but there are a few smart people who didn’t think it was easy, so I’m pretty confused. I might have failed my chemistry exam, but at least I’ll possibly come out with a 5 on this one!
I was so upset by this exam. I can’t discuss anything about the exam, but, before the exam, I was looking so forward to constructing and interpreting some confidence intervals in the FRQs. I also practiced the crud out of chi-squared tests and linear regression t-tests. Those were my specialty Ugh… Those who took the exam might understand how I reacted to the multiple choice and FRQs. I’ll complain once College Board releases the FRQs.
Also, I was stressing out for 10 minutes because I couldn’t find the “two proportional t-test” button on my calculator. I then realized my mistake: There’s no such thing as a two proportional t-test! XD
Um is it possible to get 4/4 if your process is right, just calculation mistake?
@ObitoSigma Ikr! my teacher focused way too much on confidence intervals and significance tests, and literally there was only like one question about that. There were a lot of questions dealing with distributions and analyzing graphs, which we didn’t really focus on in class. College Board definitely need to be clear on what they want students to focus on so we would know what to expect on the AP exam. I feel the same way with you for the AP Bio exam I took on Monday. Anyway lol I thought it was matched pairs test at first, but then I realized there isn’t one for proportions, only for means xD
The lack of emphasis on intervals + tests was surprising.
Can someone with form O confirm the probability for that one FRQ was like… .282 I believe?
@ShipAlreadySank Yes, I remember that number being one of my answers for one FRQ.
YES. Thank you. Someone else said 0.03 and I was worried.
Can someone tell me what they put for if the expected value would change or stay the same given that at least one machine was on?
Did anybody else get sqrt (21) for the difference of two distributions, where one had mean of 81 and SD of 5, and the other had mean of 78 and SD of 2. I didnt think it was just 3, and just guessed that it was the sqrt of the difference of the two variances.
I got √29. you always do the root of the sum of the variances
@AnniiT That’s funny. I also took the AP Bio exam and felt the same way. (The FRQs are released now, so we could discuss them.) I hated almost all of them. The circadian rhythm one about mice made no sense. I had no idea how to calculate ATP production per mole in kJ… My scientific question was awkward. I did not know the difference between permeable and impermeable barriers, so I made up things as they went. If there were abundant resources, then why would snakes decline until new species were put in? (gene flow was my only guess) Finally, I had no idea what to say about olfactory nerves, so I made stuff up about the flow of potassium, sodium, and calcium ions through synapses and how they related to neurotransmitters. (I said that odorant molecules were the neurotransmitters.)
I felt that I was repeating myself throughout the AP Statistics FRQs: especially the last one. To me, the AP exams this year have had ridiculously easy multiple choice questions but really confusing FRQs.
I felt the same way about all my APs…most of the stuff I reviewed helped…little. APUSH, which changed this year was absolutely strange. Lots of people were upset about the material covered (and not) on the exam.
Did anyone get a p value of like 0.03 something on the frq And rejected the bull?
Null*
@ShipAlreadySank I got √29 as well. I ran out of time for that question but I think I put that the expected values would be higher because you are given that at least 1 machine worked. Idk if I was right about that though. Anyway, I don’t think you should worry because you probably did very well. The exam is already over so keep happy thoughts (:
@ObitoSigma That’s so scary because I feel EXACTLY how you feel! I didn’t have time to answer the olfactory nerve question, but the snake one, I put that they had more competition. I didn’t know how to calculate that ATP one either so I wrote a random number. For the circadian rhythm question, I had to read the question twice before I was able to answer the question. You couldn’t overthink that question. My scientific question too was awkward but I think if you just provided one, you get the points. And yes, I was repeating myself so much on the AP Stat FRQs that I felt like I messed it up for sure. I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels that way. And finally, yes, FRQs were kinda confusing but MC was easy.
@bayboi707 Yes, I was afraid I got something different than others for that question!
@ShipAlreadySank @AnnieT
Wait what? It wasn’t .03? Which one r u guys talking about??
@tina23 The significance test question on the FRQ. Anyway, I think all of us did well on the exam and as long as you provided evidence for your answer, you’ll at least get partial credit.
Are you referring to the 2 proportion sample one? You got .282 as p? So you didn’t reject the null?
@tina23 For the question on probability I got .282. For the 2 prop z test I got .04. I had test form O, if that helps. We could both be right!
@ShipAlreadySank
Yass these are what I got I think…
Lol you guys freaked me out I’m like whaaaaaatt so you don’t reject the null??no way!!!
But nvm lol
Just to make sure… #4 answers: REJECT THE NULL right?
