@AnniiT How do they grade it seeing as scores come out during the summer?
@ReadyForTheWind We don’t have finals for AP classes. Like I said, the AP exam is like our final, but it doesn’t affect our grade in the class.
ONE LAST TIME…
What did everyone think of the MC and FRQ questions from the May 13th Exam? Thanks.
@bjgiants6 MC= easy, FRQ= a little challenging but not too bad.
AnniiT,
My students told me about the same on the MC and questions 2 and 6 were hard on the free response, the others were easy. Thanks for your feedback!
Here is one of the AP Readers comments about the FRQ:
Q1: everyone tried it, by many were not precise with their language.
Q2: students need to know the relationship between sample size and ME. They were often overly general. They thought that a number being on one end of a CI made it more likely than in the center of the CI.
Q3: I thought it was a nice little straight forward problem.
Q4: p=.03 at alpha =.05 was low was not given credit. They had to explicitly say p<alpha. Very common for students receiving pt loss for past tense hypotheses through use of the words ‘took’, ‘developed’, or ‘got’.
Q5: students did not ‘calculate’ when asked to. Make sure students understand that ‘calculate’ is a command to show work. When asked to describe many students did not know to say moderate, linear, positive or said things like moderately positive.
Q6: again, students had the right idea but often used imprecise language to communicate it. Many students were unable to divide by sqrt n on the sampling distribution of sample means. Students said statements that were too strong: normal rather than approximately normal.
I’m nervous. The scores come out in a couple of days, and I am really hoping for a 5. (Even though my college will settle with a 4 or higher)
I got a 4, i thought i was going to get a 5 but oh well
Got a 3… I got the highest credit my college offered but I thought I did a lot better.
@orangeandbluey15 and @pathospablo
How did you guys get it? It comes out on the 6th?
Got a 3…thought I did better
same here!^
I got a 5, but I think that I had an advantage because I ended up taking an actuarial science class at a local college that over-prepared me for all of the probability questions.
I got a 5!!!
This was the only AP exam I took where I was sure I did good. On the day I took this, I was sooo tired because I took AP Lang right before that, and I didn’t even get a chance to take a break between the two exams.
But the last minute cramming really paid off.
I got a 1 so…
I didn’t get a 5…
I got a 5! It was one of the three I took this year, and I was sure that I did the best on Stats
maybe it was bc I had a rly, rly nice teacher she teached and prepped us so well
anyways. forgot everything since May 13th lol
5
Man I’m so scared of the results!! Dx
I got a 4. Kinda disappointed I didn’t get a 5 but oh well.
