I'm appealing into L&S Computer Science. Cal is the only school I didn't apply for engineering, yet I still didn't get in... :(

I sent mine in postmarked by the 15th as well and am still waiting anxiously for my probable rejection. I am appealing for a Peace & Conflict Studies major.

PS I'm pretty set on my rejection to Berkeley i'm just waiting for a confirmation, but what IF your appeal goes through and you find out after may 1st, what the hell do you do? send in a late SIR? What about housing, which only is available 2-3 days after you send in your check and is also due May 7th...

whatevs. the uc system is messed.

By the way, did anyone GET IN yet?

I think you can send in your stuff late, I'm pretty sure they'll grant you several days extra to turn in your SIR. And no, I don't know anyone who has had success. Maybe we all will be at Cal next year! :D

I'm a Practice of Art major. I hope I get in so badly. )':

I saw somwhere that they took 29 out of 1000 appeals last year.
I thought i was maybe a little special because obviously some had already been rejected and I haven't yet, but now that I see that most of you are still waiting for you decisions as well, hopes are even slimmer. i'm not special; they're lazy.

werent there like 29 for fall and 93 for spring? Berkeley leaves spaces for appeals

hmm 93 for spring sounds better.
I wouldn't have anything to do during the fall semester. Community college is not an option; I'm too ready to get out of orange county.
If accepted for spring i'd probably end up staying with NYU and paying a crapload of money

My friend just told me that she just checked her status after a few days and she didn't get in. She sent her appeal out on the 14th.

Goodness! I can sympathize for your friend! What was her reason for appeal? I sent mine out on the 14th too... I'm really nervous.

thats so weird...wonder why some of ours are taking longer..

I just called Berkeley (admissions) and they said that certain majors take longer because some of the appeals are sent to their particular departments to be looked over by. So it's on a rolling basis AND has to corrolate with your departments. Also, the admissions lady said that only "3" have been accepted through appeal so far; but that's because not all of them have been reviewed or logged into the files yet. Let's not give up hope!!! I know for sure that Berkeley keeps space for appeals ( : I'm not sure how credible the admissions lady was, but let's hope she's wrong on the numbers.

They also said that anything postmarked by the 15th will be online by April 30th.

As for me, I'm being optimistic and saying WHOO HOOO I'm gonna get in through appeal! xoxoxoxo!

I'm also waiting for a decision. I put my appeal in the mailbox on March 27th (I already had it prepared - I was just waiting for the official rejection).

haha. wow.

My selected major is Social Welfare. Do you think they actually sent it to that department? I'm not sure, but according to a few websites online, it's an impacted major. I didn't know this until after I got my rejection. I was also very surprised that this major was impacted.

2 more days!!!!

the appeals won't necessarily come before may first.

Lol! Let's hope they come before may first or else there will be a riot in this thread!

they are probably waiting for May 1st to see how many enroll...and give spots based on that...cuz they know the ones they let in will most likely enroll

laserbase- I never thought of it that way
