Official April SAT Score Thread

700 M
700 CR
740 W w/ 11 Essay and 72 MC

I really think that you're set for most of the top colleges except for the top ivies, MIT, Stanford, Berkeley, and some random liberal arts schools (Williams maybe) when you've broken 2100.

Writing I'm happy with. Math I'm disappointed and I knew I could've done better - very careless. CR is meh. Indifferent but will try to get 730 in both. I'd have the means to get an 800 in math if it weren't for stupid mistakes, pure variable questions, and I II III questions.

hey i dont understand why i got a 660 on writing
i have 11 on the essay and i missed 9 questions?

Math: 760
CR: 700
W: 720(71 MC, 10E)
TOTAL: 2180

I don't know whether to be mad or happy...I guess I'm just confused about how I should proceed from here on out. Mhmm I really have no clear weakness but I guess I really should pull my CR and W up to 750 each and I will be golden.:)

guess what i got....lol...an 1810...and im one of the higher scorers in my school...im kinda ****ed...wanted >2000...but oh well...theres always oct

700 M, 550 CR, 560 W (9 E)

SB2 - I completely agree with you! On the PSAT's, Writing was my highest section (by far). Yet, the first time I took the SAT's back in January, Writing came out to be my lowest section (by far). I managed to get it up the second time around, but it's still not as good as the PSAT score. (770 vs. 78)

Hell, I improved 200 points from the PSAT so I'm very happy. The highest I scored on a practice test was an 1860 and I was consistently scoring in the low 1800's. I know I can do better in the reading and writing as I scored in the mid to high 600's in those areas on a few practice tests, but I'll never do as well as I did in math again so it's not worth taking it again. 1800 is good enough to get me where I want to go so I'm very pleased.

well, i'm not going to college so-

jk. i'm not giving up, guys.

lol i brought mine up 240 pts to a 2130 between my 1st and 2nd testings. hopefully I can improve again for my next and final testing (doubt it tho').

SB2, if it's any consolation, many or even most colleges are not giving equal weight to the writing section. They may look at it, and they will even look at an actual essay if there is any question about the candidate's application essays. So your daughter's 1370 is certainly respectable!

I wouldn't stress out too much about it. My daughter had been doing really terribly on the SAT essays, getting four or five (out of 12). But on the day of the test, she was happy that the prompt was actually something she could write about (she's not a b.s. artist, for better or worse). She happened to get a 10 on the essay, shocking the whole family.

Your daughter can certainly take the SAT again if she feels like. My D is taking it again to try to raise her math score (currently 680, also respectable).

Oh dear... I did fine, but I am VERY upset to learn that schools weight the writing section so lightly....

Reading: 690
Math: 680 (God, I KNOW I can do better than that)
Writing: 800, 49/49 m.c. + 12 Essay (WOW!!!!!!!)
Total: 2170

Yeah, I was extremely happy about my writing, to say the least.... I thought it was easy, but usually I make a couple dumb mistakes.... But getting a perfect score in ANY section (even if it is the one that doesn't count for much), does give me a warm tingly feeling.... I'm slightly disappointed in my math (usually I'm great at math... I don't understand why I did so badly on the math).....The reading was about what I was expecting....

I'm going to take it again just so that I can raise my math and possibly reading and switch my great writing score...

Mine were a lot lower than i expected.

CR: 690
M: 710
W: 700 (10 essay)

2100 overall. I'm kind of mad about it since on all my practice tests I got upper 2200's to lower 2300's, and my PSAT was 220. This is my first time taking the SAT, and I thought I wouldn't have to retake it. But now I have to do that, and take 2 more SAT II's. Is October next year too late to retake the SAT if I want to apply ED somewhere?

It depends. Most places have deadlines in early November for ED/EA, i think.

really.. october too late for ED?

Ahh I'm very disappointed with my scores, and the online score report is screwed up. I think I'm going to request a hand-scored version of my test because I'm so paranoid...

800 Math
790 Critical Reading
790 Writing

First time taking the SAT. I don't think I'm going to retake. Whoo, what a load off my back! Now I can enter high school without the hassle of SAT...I still have to take one more SAT II though.

^You are a god among men.

psat: 232
sat: 2160

how did this happen??

2020

super disappointed, retaking june and oct ):

i normally miss only one in the math section, but this time i got a 700... what..
argh careless mistakes??

CR: 750
Math: 770
Grammar: 800

2320, second try. not retaking.

Is october too late for ED?
