@Kat2013 Another thought - perhaps check with admissions that the email addresses she used are the best ones? Perhaps there is a better way to reach those professors? (Bard professors, in general, are very good about responding - so this is weird.) Also, I know that the admissions department is always happy to put prospective students in touch with current students in their areas of interest. It would definitely be worth a try before giving up on a school…
@Kat2013 is she in the accepted student FB group? One of the admissions officers is in the group and she is quite active.
@SpiritManager @Fiona1997 @parentgeorgia thank you all for your concern! I forwarded her email to them via my work email & they responded. She was SO happy they did. Now we will see what happens.
Happy to hear she heard back! I hadn’t heard of gmail getting blocked before (and for all we know it didn’t?) but there just seems no way to know what spam filters are going to keep from going through these days. So you never know if you never hear back from someone because they didn’t bother to reply - or because they never heard from you in the first place. It’s very frustrating!
@ZainSD I called the school a week ago and was told decisions will be posted sometime mid-march! Fingers crossed! – anyone else extremely anxious for their decision?
It would be ideal if they stuck to the mid-March date, so we could get our decisions no later than Tuesday or Wednesday :))
^The decision date of “mid-March” is posted on their twitter, too. Now that it’s a written promise, they HAVE to follow through with it!
Honestly, it’s unbeliveably difficult to wait a few more days :-w
Trust me, I understand! I don’t know about you, but I was deferred early action; this process has been never-ending.
@LilSux lol this week is going to be crazy, too many universities are releasing their decisions in the next five days
@zekosadieurokrem I’ve heard back from most of my schools, actually – so for me it’s more about seeing which kids from my school got into x, y, and z (which can potentially be just as painful aha). My quarter ends this week at school, coincidentally; let’s see how THAT goes…But anyway, is Bard a “big contender” for you? I’d love to go there, but it will depend on whether or not these scholarships I applied for come through.
@LilSux Don’t ever bother about the future of your acquaintances, because, honestly, it doesn’t really matter where they are going to go, but what they are going to make out of it. The only thing that should bother you is your future, your choices, and your happiness.
I’m an International Baccalaureate (IB) student, and this week is the week I need to send all my essays for the final matura exam. I have no idea how I am going to do that with all this stress (sometimes I feel like throwing up :)) ), but it is my choice, so basically it is my responsibility. I’m sure you’re going to do great. Just try not to be over-stressed too much, and you will manage to do everything on time. The most important thing is that you are satisfied with your accomplishments.
Bard is definitely one of the colleges I’d love to attend, but everything depends solely on the financial aid I receive (if I receive any)
@zekosadieurokrem Aww this post is so sweet! I definitely agree with your sentiment; it’s also way too easy to get swept up and anxious over all-things-college – even if some of it is so arbitrary. I wish you the best – on both your essays for IB and your future!
Are the decisions going to come out today?
@ZainSD hopefully, but I wouldn’t put my stakes on this date
I think this Mid-March date can range from today to the end of this week.
I don’t think they will be out today as well.
@ZainSD Me neither 8-|
I emailed them today. Hopefully should get a response before the decision :))
@ZainSD they usually take a look at emails and don’t reply :)) let me know if they send you anything
