2 more weeks… i cannot describe the pain of waiting!!! ~_~ i have a disadvantage at my SAT score. Does anybody know how much does Barnard weight the SAT in the evaluation process?

As I read in last year thread, the decision came out later than the expected “Mid-May.” I hope this year wont be the same.

Ahhhhhhhh

@kane668 i am in the same boat with you on the SAT scores…just a bad test taker!

btw, IT’S MAY!! let the nerve-wracking wait commence

I know some people got decisions last year as early as may 3rd or so…

Are decisions release via email or standard mail? Did certain types of applicants receive their applications before the release date or was it on a basis of the earlier you applied the earlier you’re notified?

P.s @lillisophia you posted earlier you’re a “comm” major- what specific major are you or what department is the comm major listed under on the website I didn’t realize they had one!

Communications actually is such an interesting major but I didn’t think they offered it either…is it just labeled as something different at Barnard?

To clarify I wast asking about the comm major to be rude nor was it asking in a condescending matter, I was genuinely inquiring!!!

[Departments and Majors | Barnard College](http://barnard.edu/academics)

Communications isn’t listed here, and I can’t find anything similar (other than English, I guess). I hope this girl didn’t write about majoring in communications in her supplemental essays.

Ladies, let’s eliminate the negativity and hostility towards each other. There is no need to create animosity between the members of this thread who may potentially (hopefully!!) be our classmates next semester. I know the decision date is approaching but there is no added benefit to creating feelings of anxiety in others right before we find out, myself included!!

no comm is my major at the university I am at currently… you aren’t restricted to the majors offered at Barnard too, you can have a major in Columbia’s catalog

And no I did not write about it in my supplements…

I don’t see it in Columbia’s catalog either?

I’m not trying to generate any animosity; I’m just curious because I’m also interested in communications, but half of the schools I’m applying to don’t offer it.

Communications is a great major my sister majored in it Steinhardt but Newhouse is at Syracuse is the best program for comm majors. When did everyone submit their applications? I’m nervous because mine was submitted closer to the deadline. What colleges are people transferring from and why?

i submitted mine around March 10…I thought it was due the 15th but apparently not? I’m getting verrryyyy antsy!

If the Common App allowed you to submit your application, it wasn’t late.

there isn’t a major called “Communication” exactly, but there are things that are close to it! I hope that was helpful also, the deadline was the 15th, i submitted the 14th I believe

On the common app website when you go to my colleges and it shows you what you’ve submitted what items are supposed to be in black instead of green and say downloaded on _____ (insert date here)?

*for the Barnard application not other schools

I don’t think the color of the text matters. The text that says “Downloaded…” is black regardless of whether your application is late, early or on time.

I submitted my Barnard application on the 15th, but it was downloaded on the 16th. Would this hurt my application in any way?

I’m sorry if I was unclear my question was what items are supposed to have switched from submitted to downloaded and the color of the words was another detail so people could understand what I was asking.

For everyone in this thread: Does it just say the application was downloaded or the other items as well?

I think you’re reading too closely into the semantics of the application. If an item is “submitted” or “complete,” is has probably been downloaded. If an item has been “downloaded,” it is probably complete.

But yeah, mine also says “downloaded.”

ANYWAYYY people. Let’s focus on more important things like, does anybody know someone who has a decision already?
Maybe today will be the day for some of us…

i’m another hopeful transfer. i called today and at first the girl said decision letters would be mailed out by next week but later she said they would be mailed by the 15th! i thought i read somewhere that decisions were rolling - if they are this doesn’t feel very rolling to me…
