Those are both amazing schools! Keep us updated best of luck!

Hi girls. I just wonder if nobody receives rejection till now. I still havenāt heard back from Barnard nowā¦Iām worrying if that means Iām rejectedā¦

@lilli and @justina - im remaining on the waitlist but i paid m deposit to emory today !! so justina let me know if you end up going there !!!

@lilli - did you apply to any other schools ?

@cbbtrans only Barnard!

weāre supposed to hear back about housing late july/early august but barnard is really good about providing housing so i wouldnāt worry too much. we get housed in a dorm just for transfer students (elliott hall). iām super excited!!!

I am worried to death rite now. Lucky you guys live in the States. I am a international students from China and transfer from Lehigh. Really hope to get in tho!!! Anxious.

Hey all, I had to turn down Barnard today, so hope that opens up a spot for one of you!

@aynrand3399 sad to hear, where are you going instead (if you donāt mind me asking)

Hey all!
Iāve just created a Facebook page for us Fall 2012 transfers!
Since we are bound to run into each other at Barnard, why not get to know each other now?
Please ālikeā the page, and post an intro of yourself! If you happen to know anyone else who is transferring to Barnard, invite them to do so too!
https://www.facebook.com/BarnardFall2012TransferStudents

I just submitted my intent to attend Barnard as well as my $400 deposit today! I donāt know if yāall got an e-mail but the deadline is 2 weeks from the date on your acceptance letter. Mine was sent on May 11th so May 25th is my deadline.

So excited to meet you all! Feel free to ālikeā the page even if you are currently waitlisted, not attending, etc.

So it turns out Iām going to Barnard after all. Submitting my deposit as soon as I get my financial situation figured outā¦

thatās great news justina11. are you a sophomore or junior transfer? Have you decided on a major yet?

13haashopeful: Iām super excited about attending barnard too.I just liked your page!

Sophomore transfer. I put down psychology for the hell of it (I thought it would be foolish to enter āundecidedā on my application), but Iāve also considered majoring in film studies and biologyā¦ Iām going to have a really hard time deciding.
How about you?

@barnardbarnard: i just sent you a friend request!ćļ¼¾ļ¼æļ¼¾ći read some of your old comments and it seems like youve been trying to get into barnard for a while now- congratulations on finally getting into the school of your dreams!

@justina: yay for deciding on barnard! i hope they give you a decent financial aid package. i think people have until the end of sophomore year to decide on their majors

Please like the page and post an intro if you can, everyone!
https://www.facebook.com/BarnardFall2012TransferStudents

My financial aid package isnāt great, but Iām getting help from relatives who have nothing better to do with their money.

Iām kind of freaking out about housing. Does Barnard have a history of denying housing to people who live really far from New York (but arenāt international)?

Hmm, Iām sure that you will make it through somehow! Maybe a job, loans, scholarship?
I donāt think Barnard will deny housing to people based on how far they live- that wouldnāt be very fair. Most likely it will be on first come first serve basis.

They actually do consider distance. People who live in New York are far more likely to be denied housing.

justina11: Iām a junior transfer. I put down my major as Russian but Iām also thinking of mathematics and economics as a major. Iāll probably be able to do either but definitely wonāt have time to do a double major.

Does anyone know if we can major in something different from what we mentioned?

Also, i think they do take into consideration where you stay. Iām an international student transferring from a NY community college just outside of NYC so iām worried if theyāll think itās considered āliving in NYā and deny me housing.Although I doubt itās dependent specific miles. Anyone who doesnāt live in NYC or its surrounding suburbs would be deemed as having problems with housing. Whether you live in California or Pennsylvania seems beside the point to me.

13haashopeful: yeah. Iām so surprised and happy myself! I applied for Barnard as a sophomore transfer as well but didnāt get in. Are you a sophomore or junior transfer?

Wow. I knew housing was limited but i didnt think it would be that limited. Have you called thwm to make sure? If you dont mind me asking, where do you live? I live in northern California.

Hey xingjie(?)! Im a junior transfer from a cc in california and my major is economics. Im majoring in business at my cc but barnard doesnt offer business. Its cool that youre a russian major! Im a german minor but im thinking about double majoring

housing is gonna be fine guys. i emailed the head of housing for transfers and he says they are almost always successful. thereās a whole building set up for transfers called elliott hall
