Recs: very strong as well. Have known my counselor for all four years of high school; three additional recs from teachers who know me from the classroom, the soccer field, and in Model UN.

Wow. All I can say is that I am floating. This IS the best feeling in the world, and I TRULY, TRULY hope that all of you beautiful ladies will experience it as well. I am a firm believer in things happening for a reason, and you guys will do GREAT things. It has been wonderful getting to know you. Thanks for all the support and congratulations :') I have not screamed/cried this much in a very long time…haha

LET’S FIND EACH OTHER ON FACEBOOK!

I just want to pop in to congratulate all of you young women who have been accepted.

(One word of advice: don’t post your real names or other identifying info online. You can send each other private messages to share that sort of info.)

hm…calmom that makes me a bit paranoid! Is there any way I can delete my post?

You should email the moderators. You could just use the “Report Problem Post” link under your own post – and then fill at the form and ask that the line with your name be deleted. (The moderators are usually pretty good about that sort of thing – they can preserve the rest).

WOW congrats everyone!!! I’m so happy for you!

As for those who were deferred or denied, there are PLENTY of colleges out there for you and the fact that you were even LOOKING at Barnard says that you’re special. Keep working hard!

(PM me your names so we can’t facebook each other!)

Ahh! I mean CAN facebook each other.

LOCATION
State or Country: SC
School Type: 96 in graduating class, episcopal private school

OTHER FACTORS:
General Comments & reflections: I’m one of those people who shouldn’t’ve gotten in but did. I think my essays, my recs, and my extracurriculars got me in. I’m still in shock really. I am very proud of myself. Good luck to those who were deferred/rejected. You will still do great things.

@figureskater- you didn’t say ‘accepted’ by your decision haha…but I figured it out, congrats!!

wow. I’m really smart.

ACCEPTED!!!

I got deferred :frowning: my extra curriculars were pretty good, my average is a 92, my sats are a 1320 and i had great volunteer work and my essays were very strong. recommendations were good too… what do i do now to get into barnard? is sending a recording of me playing chopin and debussy classics a good idea for supplementary material? help!

Firgureskater, ohmygosh I am freaking out. I live in AZ and haven’t received anything yet. My grades and scores are just likes yours and i go to a college prep arts school. I have really good EC’s and essays and I feel good, but then i’m not sure.
Reading yours definitely gives me hope. I worked so hard on my app, submitted supplementary items and a portfolio.
i was wondering if i could read your essay.
