Official Barnard 2015 Decision Thread

Accepted.

10char

Thank you mom24girls! I’m definitely planning on doing all that. What a crazy coincidence :)

Congrats to everyone who has been accepted!

aw shay33 that’s really nice of you  I’m sad that I won’t get to go to Barnard (such a great school in the best city ever!) but since they’re so selective, I’d already prepared myself for the thin envelope…it’s okay though, I’ll find my way to nyc eventually!

and for the people who are waitlisted, I know you’re sad, but there is still a chance! I bet since Barnard is so expensive and because Barnard may not be everyone’s top choice, enough spaces will open up. Good luck!

I got in!!!
to be honest I wasn’t even considering that I wouldn’t get rejected because I was waitlisted at Wellesley and I showed far less interest in Barnard.
So.
Happy.

To those of you who were waitlisted, don’t give up! Send a follow-up letter expressing how much you want to attend (if this is true.) I was accepted off the waitlist. In any case, I’m sure that whatever college you go to, you’ll be very happy!

STILL NOTHING!! I really think this is a bad sign and I’m really really nervous now.

Try to relax. My letter came really late (I live in TX). Most had gotten their decision by Wednesday, but mine didn’t come until Saturday. Just because its a bit late, doesn’t mean its a bad thing!

to theblusrstillblu, I am also still waiting for an acceptance/rejection (hopefully acceptance), and I live in California. Approximately how much time should it have taken to get here.
Should it have been here by today??

you can call i think… they tell you after a while.
insert your admissions ID on the accepted students page. it worked for me!

Waitlisted ugh :'(

STATS
GPA: 4.2 weighted (definitely on the lower side for Barnard)
Rank: Not sure exactly, probably top 5%
ACT: 33
SATI: 2160
SATII: Spanish: 730, Math 2:710, Lit: 700
Other Stats: 4s and 5s on APs

SUBJECTIVE:
Common Application Essays: I honestly think this is why I got in, my stats aren’t all that impressive but I put a lot of effort and personality into my essay. I also took a bit of a risk, which seems to have paid off! :)

Barnard Essays: Strong! Once again, I put a lot of effort into these.

EC’s: member and choreographer of a Dance Company for five years (Barnard loves their dancers!), foreign exchange student, club president and founder, LOTS of community service

Awards: Language award at my school (received thrice), various awards for grades and dance

School Type: Public
Ethnicity: White

OTHER FACTORS:
SO HAPPPPPPY! :-)

Has anyone heard from the waitlist for the class of 2015??!

yeah i’m wondering the same thing too; has anyone heard from the waitlist yet??

i haven’t gotten the waitlist rejection/accepted letter…

Neither have I! I spoke to someone at admissions and they said that they have sent out letters to people still on the waitlist telling them their decision. They told me that if I don’t get a letter by this Friday, to call up. I am SO nervous. I have never wanted anything more in my life. I will let you all know as soon as I get a letter.
