Official Barnard Early Decision 2014

On a different note, do any of you know which cell phone provider works best at Barnard/Columbia/NYC?

I went on a friday in october and interviewed with a senior interviewer (nelly). I fell in love with Barnard after a campus visit to a friend in February and knew that I absolutely had to apply ED when I couldn’t stop thinking about it all summer. I’m leaning towards a double major in social sciences and french, but I am also interested in psychology. I think that I have a lot of things going for me (and so I’m told…), but of course nothing is certain. What about you?

Have you seen this article? It makes dreaming even worse! [100 Things to do at Barnard before you graduate Barnard Blog 2009](100 Things to do at Barnard before you graduate | Barnard Blog 2009)

So, I’ve been trying not to post here for fear of jinxing my chances, but I can’t hold it in anymore. My name’s Alexis (you can call me Lexi) and I applied ED. I’m so nervous to hear in December!

chocolat3-- I thought they send everything out a few days before the 15th… If you look on last year’s forum, i think that a few people received their acceptance packages as early as the 12th.

Lexi, I’m exactly the same. Except my name isn’t Alexis. :)

haha welcome to the group guys

Thanks, college101. A lot of the forums have conflicting information about when it was sent, so I will just go back to expecting it around the 15th, and hopefully get a pleasant early surprise.

Internationals get an email on the 15th, right? I really hope I don’t have to wait ages and ages and ages. :)

Ooh, you’re an international? From where, if I may ask?
Also, thanks for the welcome, Angelath

I live in Denmark, but I’m a dual Danish/American citizen, so I’m sort of international.
Where are you guys from?

wow so many international students
hi anna im from norway we are neighbors! hehe

ive heard about this one girl from france who got the email the same day the letters were sent out (a few days before the 15th)

Haha! Actually, that was me up the on the AnnaRoxie profile. I was writing from my friend’s computer. I didn’t even know she had a profile! I just didn’t even think about not logging on. Wow, confusion. Sorry about that. :)

Anyway, hi neighbor! Nice to have someone else in this time zone.
Getting the email a couple of days early would be AMAZING! I think that I’m going to count on the 15th, though. Then it’ll be a surprise if it’s early.

Wow, this board is heating up! Welcome guys! Pantoufle, is your username a reference to Chocolat? (the movie, that is)

Sort of. My sister started calling me “Pantoufle” after we saw the movie, haha. It also means slipper in French and we both speak French, but it’s mostly the movie.
Also, I’m from New York! Woohoo!

Hi hi hi hi. :)

Welcome!

awww im feeling really nervous right now
i think i will be rejected :frowning: aww being rejected by dream college just before xmas isnt the best thing that can happen

I’m very nervous. I’ll be hearing back from Barnard and UChicago (Early Action), and if I don’t get accepted to at least one, I’ll be heartbroken.

Heartbroken is a good word to use. I’m definitely in love with Barnard, and I hope she loves me back!

does Barnard send out rejection letters at the same time as acceptance letters?

yepp ive heard they do
except that rejection letters are sent by regular mail and will take a few days longer to reach the students
