for those who have gotten their letters, did it come with the rest of your mail or by a seperate delivery service?

It’s just USPS Priority Mail, so it should come with regular mail. Today, I just got the mail, and it isn’t in it (I’m hoping I’ll get it Monday now). However, I was able to log in to the admitted students portal (fall) this morning with my original application code, so it looks like that’s a good thing, at least?

JUST TO PUT IT OUT THERE…

I WASN’T able to log in the accepted students page Wednesday night, but I got accepted!

Hang in there, ladies!

Has anyone in Illinois gotten their letter yet?

Skimmyk
thanks for posting this and thanks for giving me hope
and congratulations :)

Congratulations to everyone accepted; you guys should post in the “official” results thread! I want to know your stats and activities and everything!

I think we are all blinded by our desire to get into this school that we are unable to think critically about this situation. The way Barnard has handled this process is RIDICULOUS. There are schools with literally thousands of applicants that were able to get every students admission decision in the mail/online by this week or even earlier.

The first strike was when they left the admissions portal online prior to official decisions and only a select few were able to see their acceptance before others. Then as a ruse for the giant mishap, Barnard decided it would be cute to put quotes about patience on the Facebook page without providing any clarifying details about what exactly the message on the online portal meant; less energy would be exerted if Barnard just stated your decision on the portalsimple as that.

Meanwhile, this forum is the blind leading the blind. No one but those in the admissions office knows what your decision is or when that decision will be coming in the mail. The lack of clear information is causing everyone (including myself) to be increasingly anxious over their admissions decision.

I dont think the USNWR rankings are calculated with admissions office competence as a deciding factor, but if it were to be so, Barnard would be dropped an entire tier from its already dismal ranking.

@skimmyk CONGRDJAFREAKINLATIONS AND THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS you saved my soul

also, not getting my hopes up. this whole situation jas really grounded me and made me realize that i very well could not get in, whereas before i was soaring through the clouds. it made me humble.
whatever happens, there are other schools similar to barnard that we should all look at (Vassar, Smith, Wellesley, COLUMBIA, etc.) i know YOU ARE ALL LOVELY and the only way you wont get something is if you give up!! :)

yeah also this whole situation in some way has revealed how susceptible and vulnerable i could be

@vvarhol - I can’t find the “official results” page. Mind posting a link? :)

I just meant this page, the third thread down in the Barnard College section:

has anyone who has NOT gotten their package tried their tracking code on the “accepted students fall” page?

I tried my tracking code on the accepted students page and it worked… which could either be really exciting or really awkward…

@cavalior7005 I’ve not yet received a package (or a letter), but I am able to use my code on the accepted students page and have already “confirmed my enrollment” (though I’ll wait on the deposit until I get mail).

@skimmyk is your code working now or did you get a new code that works?

Is it safe to assume that if I didn’t get a letter by now, I’ve been rejected?
I live in Massachusetts, which isn’t all too far away…
And they did say 15th…
and I’m thinking that they sent the letters to those who have been accepted first as priority, and those rejected later…

Okay.
Time to eat myself to obesity.

@cheiri NO NO NO! im talking to someone on tumblr that is from minnesota that got into that portal today but did not get their letter today! your safe for now, girl. im from texas and did not get into the portal and did not get my letter.

@artobsessed

Okay. I won’t go into rage food mode yet.
Good luck to the both of us then :D

Yeah, I haven’t gotten my letter and I can’t get into the portal. I’m from central PA. Oh well. :/
