Official Barnard Early Decision 2017

I signed it via the common app and submitted it, as did my parents. I am an international applicant and my school does not have a gc so everything submitted was essentially submitted by me. Is there some other form other than the one you had to sign on the commonapp in order to submit the application?

I also called the admissions office and they said that if I was missing something then they would have notified me by email - so does this mean I’m not missing something…or? ahhhh!!! so stressed. thank you :)

If you didn’t receive any emails about what you’re missing, then you’re good! They just probably haven’t gotten to putting it in the system yet :)

I agree Whiteoleander! My daughter is getting very nervous. She hopes this means she will know by Friday!! Good luck to all who have applied. It sure looks like a very special place.

I’m so freaked out. I actually have a D-Day count down! I don’t know how I’m supposed to deal with rejection if I get rejected. I’ve been thinking about Barnard for so long now it feels like I’m already part of the Barnard family. I am so stressed!!! Any advice?

Hi everyone!
Obviously I am also an ED applicant for Barnard…Did all of you have an interview? Did Barnard require one? Im an international student. I didnt request an interview and Barnard never sent me an email asking for one. Does that mean I have absolutely no change of getting in??
My GPAs are really good but SATs…not as much. Im really really freaking out now plz help me with my questions!! Thanks so much!!

dearcollege123, on their website Barnard specifically says that the interview is optional, however, it may help you. I am an international student from Panama and I did the skype interview the day before the Nov 15 deadline. It was good and I got the chance to ask several questions about Barnard. When it comes to chances, not doing the interview should not interfer with your admission, since it was optional. (Or at least that is what they said) So don’t worry! I wish you the best of luck, and hopefully we’ll see each other next September! :D

btw, I just had one quick question…this student from Barnard, that I didn’t know or heard of before, (she was not my interviewer) added me on facebook. I don’t know how she contacted me but I’m really excited to ask her about her Barnard experience. Do you think I should or would that be really weird? She sent me a friend request.

I’m so nervous for the decision day! One more week and it could be one of the happiest days of my life…good luck to everyone.

@anavic If she sent you the friend request, then I’d feel free to talk to her! I mean, hey, it’s all relative!

@dearcollege Not having an interview shouldn’t hurt you in any way! I’m a US applicant and I had an interview with my admissions rep over the summer at Barnard. Like @ana said, online it says that Barnard doesn’t hold it against you if you don’t interview, so I wouldn’t worry about it!

Thanks guys those were really helpful!!

And @anavic you can definitely talk to her coz she would love to help you out and talk about her life at Barnard! At least I would if I were a student there:)

@ninapatari – international applicants get their admission decisions by email

thank you guys, I think I’ll message her and ask her about her experience.

@dearcollege123, you said u were an international student…from which country? just curious haha

I’m so anxious to hear back from Barnard!!! I applied ED as well. I attended Barnard Bound in October and fell in love! I hope we all get the admission decision that we are hoping for!!!

@whoaajordan - Thanks, good to know! Do we receive the emails on the 15th? Or could we receive them as late as the 19th?

This waiting is k i l l i n g me… plus It will take awhile for the mail to get to Texas :frowning: hang in there everybody!!!

@alexaalaska im in texas, too. i really hope the mail-out was adjusted for people that live far away

I have been watching these boards for several years now and every year my heart and prayers go out for you lovely ladies. It will all work out, though I do know that this does not help you right now. Just know you are not in this alone! We are out there in cyber-world cheering you on and I will be eagerly checking this thread every day to see the good news!

Best to you all…

I’m in Texas too! Gahhh. The mail is going to take forever

They’re all mailed on the same day, but there may be a way to check by determining whether you’re allowed get to to a web page that only admitted students can access. People in NY that get letter on first day can post that info. But remember deferral is not rejection.

@notakid Whooaa! That’s awesome! So just to be clear, only accepted students can view the web page?
