Thanks churchmusicmom! Your posts on this forum have been very informative & have been a lot of help to me!

I wrote about Irene Adler haha it took me FOREVER to figure that out though. first I tried to write about Begum Rokeya and couldn’t really, and then I thought for some more time and tried Eowyn, but that didn’t really feel right either. once I found the right woman though, the words flowed out a lot easier.

I really like the idea of a women’s college, but I didn’t apply to any others, because I’m staying close to home.

@churchmusicmom thanks for letting us know! march is so far away though D: waiting is that much worse when you get rejected as well. we’ll just have to wait and see I guess

@stressedouttt- LOVE Irene Adler

Hey guys! (Or should I say girls? :P) I applied regular decision as well. Can’t wait to see how it turns out!

@theforestagain - I also applied to Wellesley, but not Smith.

Does anyone know what they might major in?

I’m interested in majoring in english, anthropology, art history, international relations, and econ. I’m also excited to take classes in subjects that weren’t available in my high school. That’s one of the reasons why I love the Nine Way of Knowing so much- you get to explore so many different areas.

yeah i love the nine ways of knowing.
i want to be a gender studies major :)

LOL, Irene Adler is amazing :)))

And Nine Ways of Knowing is awesome.

@kendrickgirl- I’m interested in taking gender studies classes! My friend, who’s already in college, says that her gender studies classes are so insightful and change the way you look at the world.

maybe if we both get in @berries123 we can take some classes together
yeah i did a lot of gay stuff in high school (activism, starting organization, GSA, etc.) so I’d love to do that. I’d love to take gender studies classes. Sounds so exciting.

@theforestagain, you sound a lot like me. And if your username is a nod to Deathly Hallows, well, let’s be friends.

@churchmusicmom, that post made me smile. Thanks :3 I’m pretty excited.

Guys, don’t stress about not having applied ED! I for one was nowhere near ready to apply early, and I honestly think my own chances will be much better RD. At least, that’s my two cents. Either way, we’re all going to be okay.

Have you all had interviews?

no i was too late

@kendrickgirl- Fingers crossed! And that’s really awesome- are you planning on continuing the activism stuff in college?

And I had an interview! It went well! And she told me that I would be a great fit for Barnard which was great

I wouldn’t worry that much if you weren’t able to interview! I know people who have gotten in without one.

My interviewer was SO sweet! We talked about how she studied abroad in Senegal, among other things. I was a bit surprised that we were limited to half an hour, but I guess that’s how they roll. I’m just curious to see how other people’s experiences were :)

I didn’t do an interview because it ended up being during the Hurricane and I never got the opportunity to reschedule o.o

@berries123 Yeah of course I definitely want to gay activism in college. That’s basically the reason why I am applying as a gender studies major :)

@kendrickgirl- That’s awesome!

My interviewer and I discussed internships during the interview and she talked about her time interning at the UN-it was very eye-opening.

She also talked about how much she loved Barnard during her 4 years there and how attending a women’s college changed her perspective.

I was too late to get an interview, looks like everyone else had pretty good ones though! Do they count for that much?

I’m definitely planning on gender studies, queer theory etc., as well as women’s studies. As a major though, probably English or something like that.

@ambnyc yay more gender studies people i didn’t end up scheduling an interview either. i hope they don’t count as much though i wish i had one.

Hi! Best of luck girls!

Applied to Wellesley, Barnard and Bryn Mawr. Safety-Rutgers.

My interviewer went to Greece. We spoke about clubs, core requirements, awesome teachers, financial aid and helpfulness of the staff.

Looking to major in Poli Sci & /French.

Did anyone get their password to track their application as yet?

No I emailed the Admissions office and they said we’d get the passwords in early February.

I have, but I submitted my app in early/mid December.
