What were the interviews for? UT stuff?

thanks for the super thorough answer!

though to be honest, it’s definitely making my decision harder. Even though UT was my safety, I honestly fell in love with it & all that BHP & Plan-II have to offer, and it’s really hard to let that go… though a lack of scholarships has made it a little less hard haha

If UT BHP was your safety, where were your stretches?! Also, I haven’t gotten but a 1,000$ one time scholarship and that’s it! Where is the love? lol

“As far as “dire” information, you didn’t really miss anything. There were a lot of parents that needed to have their egos stroked and reassured that there “babies” would be in good hands at a first rate school. Questions like, how much help will professors give? What if they can’t keep up? What about the grading system? What about the /new/ grading system? What about the rankings?”

haha thank god someone else was thinking what I was thinking… my parents came but they skipped a lot of it to see the campus and they asked no questions, so I was very proud of them. That stuff was ****ing me off. There was a lot of “babying” questions

“The mock classes were interesting. I took a junior level finance class, but watered down for the basics I think. The professor was nice and pretty adept at connecting the concepts to actual situations from her professional career (she’d been an investment banker a lot longer than a teacher) and personal situations in her home life.”

the younger lady? If so, I had her

"The tour of the honors dorm was nice the community was good, if the rooms small. And, as luck would have it were were there for a campus event where people were splashing colors all over each other to loud music (at the time Indian) to celebrate diversity. Everyone out there was so warm (as people, the whether was cool and windy). That was a great contrast to the business casual monolithic crowd that we had made up for ourselves to go on the tour. ![]()

oh yeah, I asked someone what that was and it was “an indian festival of color” or something. I will go to UT for that festival only, it looked awesome

For me, D BHP was mostly stuff I had already heard, but it was still a good experience, and they gave us sweet leather “pad-folios” (who says pad-folio?) with BHP pressed into them and a good lunch with chocolate mouse… those two things kept me there alone

@stobizzle09

well, it was more like UT as a whole was a safety because of auto admit. plus since I applied to BHP early & found out about it early, I thought about it in my head as a safety because it was my only sure thing for the longest time.

congrats & the scholarship and I’m still hoping that they haven’t sent out all of them :)

So I missed out on Discover BHP because I was running a track meet at LSU last Saturday but my mom and older sister (McCombs Alum 07) went for me. I went and visited campus and some of the off campus dorms today which was funny because in the 4 years of moving my sister in and out of dorms and apartments I never really walked around campus. Wish I could have made it to meet some other accepted BHP people and figure out what everyone else is doing for housing.

thanks stobizzle
anyone else wanna post their resumes or high school info?

Hi I’m a junior in high school and am planning on applying to the BHP program this summer. My SAT scores aren’t very high, but I’m ranked number 4 in my class as of right now. I will be president of NHS next year, I’m treasurer of the Rotary Interact Club, I was on the academic decathlon team and we got 8th in the state, I’m a member of Mu Alpha Theta and student council, and I have done a lot of community service. Is their any chance of me getting in even though I don’t have very high SAT scores?
