Nice, thank you for making this thread and sharing brave soul! I’m anxiously waiting to hear back for RD.

No problem! Unless you’re local, you should receive your decision letter on Monday.

congrats BC17! see you at orientation!

isn’t the official notification date april 1st? if they come will they come in letters or emails?

Everyone will be notified by regular mail.

@demidemiz That’s just a “we’ll get it to you by…” date. They sent out decisions by mail this Friday, so most of us should have it by tomorrow.

Random but what did the letter look like when you got accosted? Was it a huge packet or just a letter? Just wondering what I should anticipate in the mail because some schools it’s just a simple letter and others it is a huge congratulations and info packet.

@aconley22

Large 9x13 (roughly) white envelope, containing two letters and some brochures.

This wait is literally killing me. I just got denied by Colby and Middlebury yesterday so I’m kind of freaking out for BC…

One more day to goo!!!

All we have to do is wait for school tomorrow, and our letters will be waiting for us when we get home!

Waitlisted

I don’t really feel like filling all that out, SAT 2020, ACT 30. Does anyone know the chances of being taken off the waitlist?

To those that received mail, was the envelope average size or larger?

I just want to prepare myself lol

^ I believe it’s larger if you got in. I just keep telling myself I didn’t get in so I won’t have any expectations :/

S just got the sad, thin envelope in the mail. He won’t even open it…he knows it means
REJECTED.

Waiting - JHU, Harvard, Vanderbilt, Univ. of Rochester
Accepted - Boston University, Rose-Hulman, Univ. of Pitt (full tuition), Saint Louis Univ. (1/2 tuiition - didn’t apply for awards), OSU (maximus award)
Reasons why I think he was rejected - looking at the academic level of students who were accepted to MIT and Univ. of Chicago…First and foremost…these students are over the top with their SAT and ACT scores. Second…I couldn’t help to notice that it doesn’t help if you check the boxes for Caucasian and Male. Kudos to the kids who have been accepted to these schools, they have obviously worked very hard for their grades and EC’s and deserve to study at the top schools…Congrats!

Spoke too soon…S opened the envelope…he was WAITLISTED…better than REJECTION, maybe? Any suggestions from seasoned parents who had kids waitlisted and ended up with acceptance, please offer advice…
