**Official Boston College Transfer Thread 2010**

Given that the freshmen already know their decisions, seems like a good idea to concentrate our transfer inquiries on a single thread.

Let’s start with a simple question: where are you transferring from? Me, Houston Community College.

Good luck to everyone and let’s keep this thread going until we get our acceptance letters!

So glad you got this going! I am transferring from Northeastern University. What school at BC did you apply to? I am Arts and Sciences.

Hey! I’m also applying to the School of Arts and Sciences. More specifically, Economics Program. Can’t wait any longer to receive my reply…

did you apply anywhere else?

This is my list: Brown, Boston College, Cornell, Columbia, Georgetown, American, Stanford, & Rice.

jetsfan6: ive seen you on a few of these threads, I’m also transferring from Northeastern! What’s your list? Mine’s Georgetown, Penn, Cornell, BC, UVa, Lehigh, and Villanova.

I really only wanted to apply to BC haha but I also applied to the University of Richmond and Loyola Maryland. Already found out I got into Richmond so that’s where I’ll be heading if BC doesn’t work out. Loyola was more of just my safety because I knew I didn’t want to come back to Northeastern.

I stayed at Richmond’s dorms for an entire week, that place rocks! How’s the BC campus? Anyone been there? Do you know when will we start receiving the decisions?!

I was accepted early as a freshman last year and decided not to go. Now that I am applying to get back in as a transfer, is this going to hurt or help my chances?

If you had a good reason for not attending initially (and explained it on your essay), I can only imagine that it will help.

Applying from Northeastern. I’m a Bio major I also have Legacy.

BC’s my target school. I’m more worried about getting into BC than Bowdoin or Cornell (moslty because I know those schools are a bit out of reach)

haha looks like a lot of us are looking to get out of Northeastern.

Any people from NU want to meet up and exchange details/horror stories next week? I’m going home this weekend, and finals are coming up, but we should all get together so at least we’ll know people there and won’t get stuck in Transfer Social Hell.

Anyone currently living in Houston, TX applying to BC?

I am applying from Brooklyn College (another BC!). I called the Admissions Office at Boston College earlier this week and they said they would be releasing decisions on May 7.

WHAAT?! That’s crazy good. I’m counting the days till May 7…

I’m applying from the College of the Holy Cross.
I only applied to BC.

Eryi-May I ask why your opting out of HC? what didn’t you like? what did you like? my daughter is starting at HC in the fall. Txs!

Son applying to transfer to BC from BU – Arts & Sciences. Seems alot of the Boston proper universities are having kids transfer to the somewhat more suburban BC. Son hates the lack of traditional campus at BU and also I think it may be a bit too huge for him. May 7th is better than had thought – just 3 weeks – good luck to everyone!

Any news from the transfer office?
