Just called BC to see if they were mailing an actual package via regular mail and they said “No, this year we just notified via e-mail.” So weird, considering someone on here from CT rec’d their acceptance via regular mail. Son got in via e-mail but just thought that a nice big envelope with accompany documents would be sent as well. BC certainly didn’t have their stuff together re: transfer notification this year.

meppie, I don’t think you should send the two together. i think BC would want the transcript directly from your school. I got wait listed at another school I wanted to go to, and I was told that I shouldn’t say that I would definitely go, unless I can afford it without any financial aid. So, in closing, I think you should emphasize how much you would like to go without actually saying that you WILL go if accepted. I don’t know if that made any sense.

And, myoneandonly, that is really weird. The office, on Tuesday, was telling people the decisions were going out ONLY via regular mail when people were getting e-mails, so I just have no idea. My letter was dated May 10 and I got it in the mail the 12th I believe.

did any1 get accepted to CSOM?

On the Financial Aid required documents page, my parent’s 2009 1040 form just moved from “Recieved” into “Required.”

What.

i got waitlisted today. what are the chances of getting in off the waitlist?

anyone who aren’t going but got accepted, CAN YOU DECLINE ASAP?!

it will help me and those that got wait listed.
THANK YOU!!

oh, and do you think that a letter of interest will be good? anything else?

rbkhoops : i got waitlisted too…oh well

You can definitely get in off the waitlist, RBKHoops – my niece got in off the waitlist last year @first week of June – I don’t believe she wrote any additional statement of interest but will check with her.

@myoneandonly: thank you! can you check and let us know asap? thanks

123business: are you going to accept the waitlist offer?

Texted my neice last night . . . she didn’t send in an additional statement of interest and got off the waitlist on June 4th last year. Initially, she wasn’t given housing, but ended up getting a great room in a dorm across from McElroy and actually ended up having a single this past semester!!

Back to the statement of interest letter . . . although she didn’t send one in, I don’t see how it could hurt. I agree with above poster though – probably should be mailed and not e-mailed.

I wish you the best of luck RBKHoops – you really seem to want BC and I think good things will happen for you :)

Hey RBKHoops, I see that’ve been accepted to Vanderbilt – NICE!!!

rbkhoops21: I did accept it. I really want to go to BC but I’m not getting my hopes up. I got into USC and I wouldn’t mind going there. Plus I still need to hear from NYU and Northwestern

i got an SGR from USC and im still waiting on Northwestern too!

do you know when NU is sending out decisions? possibly next week? (last year, they found out around this time)

again, if you got a wait list letter and you know that you will not attend BC, please deny the wait list offer. it will help those that will attend BC if taken off the wait list.

thanks!!

rbkhoops21: I emailed NU and they said that decisions are on a rolling basis and will be released between now until the end of June. I know they started reviewing my application on April 29.

Good luck with USC

123business: nice. is BC your #1 choice? if USC is your #1 choice then why are you putting yourself on the wait list?

are you going to send in a letter/rec letters/anything?

oh and do you think its best to turn it in asap? or should i turn in the letters later in May?

BC is my #1 choice, but I’m just trying to be realistic about this waitlist situation. I will be happy to stay in LA if BC doesn’t work out
I will not be sending in anymore letters/rec letters. My school is going to send my transcripts and that’s it.

for transfers

since im on the BC wait list, can i commit to another school and back out if I get off the wait list?

is that possible?

YES. It’s the same process as it was when you were applying to schools as a freshman. Wait until the last minute you possibly can, send in your deposit to whatever your second choice school is, and if you get off the waitlist then simply inform the school that you deposited at that you won’t be attending You’ll lose your deposit, though, so make sure you don’t send it in until you absolutely have to.
