**Official Boston College Transfer Thread 2010**

If you’re eligible for financial aid, I believe you can even ask them to waive the deposit.
Last year I was stuck between UMich and Holy Cross. Originally I was going to go to UMich, and paid the deposit too. But then I realized that it was not going out financially for me and I withdrew my spot and even asked for my deposit back (which they gave me). And for Holy Cross, I got them to waive my deposit.

The financial aid office is being such a pain in the ass. On the form, it says they still need my parent’s 2009 1040 form, but it was already sent in and it appears in the “received documents” section as well. When I called, the girl, who was extremely rude, told me that they hadn’t received it, even though all of my paperwork, including that tax form, was sent in as one packet.

GAH.

@somewhere I’ve had similar experiences with people working in the BC offices. Although I know it isn’t a real representation of the school itself, it’s pretty disheartening hearing the students/people who work there being so rude to the people who call!

Hahaha, I talked to that rude girl too like 2 months ago. I spoke to her the same way she did and I think she got a little intimidated.

My status says that 2 forms are missing, but I still got my finaid package somehow.

i have been waitlisted at BC and im a transfer student…does anyone know the chances of getting in? has anyone on here denied their wait list spot or decided not to go there?

I don’t think I’m going to be able to go - the financial aid they gave me was no where near as good as what I got from a couple of other schools - so my spot will probably give someone else a chance to get in.

Sorry to hear about that, Paula. I’m probably not going to get my financial aid package for another week because of the aforementioned bungling of my tax forms, but I’ll be crushed if I don’t get enough to go.

It sucks being poor :(

So BC’s financial aid is just coming out now? Does this mean that a few more spots may open up to those (like me) who are on the wait list?

Most likely, BCHEagles. My niece got in off the waitlist last year @June 6th or so (and ended-up getting housing, too). There’s definitely still hope!!

myoneandonly, I misread the title of this thread. I am not wait listed as a transfer but as an incoming freshman. I assume all financial aid for incoming freshman has been decided by now, right?

$42,200 in aid.

Yeah, I’m going to BC. That’s almost triple what I’m getting at NU.

So I got accepted but will probably decide to go somewhere else (if i get in anywhere…!!) or stay at my current school.

Looks like that will be one more spot for someone on the waitlist!

i am on the wait list…does anyone know around how many are on the list?!?

A LOT :(

And if you know you won’t go if you did get accepted off the WL, don’t put your name on it. Pleasssseee.

Son was on waitlist – new tab today (enrollment confirmation) and financial aid link

Waiting for official notice (he heard by mail last time) but looks like there may be hope yet

Best of luck to all waiting

On wait list, tab appeared yesterday! I’m assuming this is good news, don’t want to jinx myself though.

Oh I’m so happy for those of you who got new tabs – definitely sounds like good news to me!!!

I got in! Still in a little bit of shock.

Congrats Meppie!

Yeah for Meppie!!! CONGRATS!!!
