General Comments: I spent a month this summer at the BU Visual Arts Summer Institute and got to know a few admissions officials pretty well, so I’m sure this greatly contributed to my acceptance.
I’M SO HAPPY TO BE IN!!!

accepted! congrats everyone

did anyone else get their letter in the mail? mine came today and I was surprised by how small it was. big envelope, but not a whole lot of info (just the acceptance letter and info about paying the deposit)

CONGRATULATIONS to those accepted! Welcome to BU! You’re going to love going to school here. It really is a wonderful place to be (although right now, there are finals…which temporarily kills the soul for a week or so!)

I got the same package…just a folder with the acceptance letter and deposit information. I had read somewhere, I think on these forums, that they usually send information about merit scholarships, e-mail registration, and other things a few days after decisions. Anyone know more about this?

I got my letter in the mail today

Our DD was deferred, and she is wondering if everyone who applies Early Decision is either accepted or deferred. Does anyone know anyone who was rejected vs deferred from this round? Any idea of the percentages???

My daughter was deferred too at Boston University (School of Communications). She was quite heartbroken since this was her first choice. But like I told her, its not a no. So there is still a possibility! To everyone that did get accepted congratulations!

I got my financial aid letter today

Shacoria,

How exactly did you get away with applying ED to two different schools…Boston University and Vanderbilt?

I was wondering the SAME thing…against the ED rules to apply to TWO schools ED. Fishy.

collegeshopping & thumper,

at first I was like what the heck are you talking about and then I look and see all these posts on my account that I didn’t even make and I’m like what the heck. But now I’m sure that my stupid little brother has been logging into my account and freaking posting as me and it’s really freaking annoying. And he’s posting on the most random topics, Vanderbilt and “chance me” threads that I don’t care about. The only schools I’ve even applied to are Northeastern, BU, and BC

Really? Because in another post you wrote about having to withdraw all of your other apps and that there were so many. You know - the thing with CC is that people post a little info here - a little info there - and it all adds up. You are an African American female from Orlando, Florida who apparently applied ED to both Boston University and Vanderbilt. You have left enough clues - your test scores, National Achievement semi-finalist, etc., that it would be pretty easy for Boston University to identify you if someone felt like printing out all of your posts and forwarding them to the head of admissions at BU. Just saying…

rockvillemom,

dude seriously why would I do that? If someone did that it would be pretty easy to see that I didn’t apply to Vanderbilt at all. Like, I hardly ever come on this website at all

Your post on the Class of 2015 Acceptance thread:

Accepted to:

Umaine ($10,000 yr)

Sacred Heart University(CT)

Your post on the Vanderbilt ED thread:

"I hate that Vanderbilt doesn’t put the decisions online. It makes the waiting even more agonizing. lol "

and this one:

"My letter arrived today in Florida

Decision: Rejected!!!

It reads “it is with regret that I write with the news that we cannot offer you admission to the Class of 2015.”

It’s sad news, but at the same time, I got accepted to Northeastern yesterday and I got accepted to Boston University. Those were my top 2 choices, so yes this rejection from Vanderbilt is sad but then again I really wanted to live in Massachusetts a lot more than I wanted to live in the south, so it’s all good for me. Today is still a good day"

No one is buying the little brother story. You applied ED to two schools and got caught.

Not Freaking Me!!! Like really, I never come on this website. Like ever

Did your “little brother” write this post?

Chance A National Achievement Semi-Finalist For Vanderbilt!!!
