I already was admitted to BU in high school, but went to a school that offered to pay. They got rid of my major. Anyone applying for any scholarships?

Hey, I’m looking to Transfer to BU. Submitted my application for this Fall. Just waiting on Winter grades and then I can send in my college transcript. (called in and they said it was fine)

College GPA ~3.4
Sophomore at a California Community College
Highschool GPA ~3.0
No SATS or ACT
Tons of Volunteer work and work experience.
Stellar personal statement.
Instructor’s Evaluation should be awesome. Had him as an english professor two quarters in a row. I expect that he was honest and thorough, but fair and kind.
Applying as a journalism major.

Applied to COMM
HS GPA: 3.8
college GPA: 3.53
will be a junior transfer
currently attending Tulane in their honors program

Anyone got in recently? I think their notification period starts in April, though its own website claims to be mid-may. They are very ambiguous about whether applicant should send their spring grade for final grade. I contact the AD, and they said it is not necessary for academic review, but just send them once they are available. I also noticed some people didn’t get their decision until they sent their spring grade for 2011 admission.

Accepted into School of Management. Received emailing telling me My Admissions decision is now available on april 11th.

High school gpa: 89/100
College GPA: 4.0/4.0
SAT: 2320
SAT 2 : Math 2 800 Physics 700
Entering as Sophomore

EDIT: Also, I faxed my midterm spring grades to them on March 30th even though they said it was not necessary. All of those were A’s as well.

I was admitted to COMM on the 10th and received my financial aid today. It was very unexpected given the website’s notification date! Stats above.

Here is what BU told me after I informed them to fasten my application.

Thank you for your message. We ask that your counselors send in the most current updated copy of your transcript, as well as any projected grades they may be able to offer. Then, at the end of your year, you may be required to submit your completed transcript.

“you may be required to submit”… dang…

Our records indicate that review of your application for admission is complete.

If so how long did it take to receive your decision?

What I was trying to say was that my BU portal says the following:

Our records indicate that review of your application for admission is complete.

Does anyone else’s say this?
Did you received your decision?
If so how long did it take?

@rsme2005 Yup my BU portal states exactly the same thing as yours and am still waiting on for a decision!

Does anybody know the stats for BU Comms transfers? What is the average GPA admitted and does being an international student help to?

@Rsme2005 and @elephant9…what did the BU portal say before it said the review of your applications were complete?

Did it say it was under review, or just that your application was complete?

On my portal it says that my application is complete and then some random stuff. I hope that means it is under review and next update will be a completed review!

sorry if that was confusing. what i am trying to ask is if your portal’s said it was under review before it said the review was complete. OR did it say that your application was complete (as in they have all the materials), then something about it being reviewed??

I got an email this afternoon that said my decision was ready, I logged in and went to the “decisions” section at the top and I was accepted!
I guess I’ll post some stats:

HS GPA: 3.4 (Unweighted)
College GPA: probably a 3.7 (I say probably because I studied abroad and my school doesn’t count those grades toward my GPA, but other schools might)
SAT: 2090
The Dean of my school wrote my letters of recommendation, and I’m confident he wrote good ones as I’m one of his best students.
I will be a junior this fall if all my credits are accepted and I applied as an International Relations major.

Has anyone else gotten a decision?

Congrats @melcanz26! What major are you admitted in?

International Relations, but actually it didn’t even say that on my letter which was a bit surprising. It just says “you have been accepted into the College of Arts and Sciences”

Is it possible to request for an earlier decision date? The deadline for another school that I am being accepted to is May 1st and I am panicking because I really want to hear back from BU soon! Has anybody every done so and gotten a reply? I submitted my application on the 6th of March, don’t know if it’s too late or too early.

Chance me for COMM as well?

California CC GPA: 3.77
No of units completed by Spring 2012: 74 quarter units/49 semester units
ECs: Alot of working/internship experience back in my home country

What should I do?

I am getting so anxious :(! I’m having panic attacks as the date is approaching. Can’t stop checking my portal. BU is my top school. Does anyone want to chance me? I applied for CAS.
