@that1guyy, btw, I can’t PM you since College Confidential will not let me. Is there any other way I can contact you?

Any admits in this thread? This place is a ghost town compared to the USC thread.

Can anyone convince me why I should go to BU? I love BU but there are some things I don’t like and since I got admitted to USC, I’m really wondering if I’m crazy to decline that school.

That1guyy is it the business program?

That1guyy… here’s one admit. . . but i guess i’m the only one in this thread that’s been admitted to the school of engineering. I’m also looking for some one to convince me why i should go to BU. i applied for financial aid appeal, hope that would work out.

But truth is i’ve been wait-listed to Vanderbilt university and if i get accepted there i am declining BU. Because i can simply save 11K by just commuting from home (17 min away) plus Vandy is a great school.

@transferccgal

No, communication for both schools.

@afrogenius,

I feel ya. I wouldn’t have to pay for flights to boston from california if I went to USC, though I’d still stay on campus housing.

It’s just that, there isn’t a single person in this thread who is 100% going to BU and is geniuinely excited about it. While on the USC thread, it is a vibrant and lively community of people celebrating their future school. When I compare the two, I really want to be in the USC group. Not to mention the higher prestige of USC and connections in LA. USC alumni are great! And then there’s the awesome campus, sports, and people too. People don’t seem to care about going to BU.

BU has a better program for me though. Way better courses and practicum in advertising + hands on opportunities on campus + solid internship options. while USC is just comm theory, which might be boring and kind of useless. And BU gave me 57k in aid, which is almost a full ride. Not sure if I want to take out a lot of loans for USC. Anyways, I’ll wait for USC financial aid to come and if its not that less than BU, I’ll go to USC.

Sorry for the rant.

At least , I am 100% sure I will go to BU. I love it’s LA program and i can’t wait to set my foot on the Boston city. For me, going to BU is not only an access to better education , it also open the gate of a completely new life . I also want to know more active people who can talk to me so that I won’t feel afraid of going to another country whose culture is different from where I come from. I believe that this thread is not so vibrant not because those who choose BU don’t love their future school, maybe they just don’t know about this thread. Anyway , I am confident about BU and feel really excited to have the chance to study and live there.

@that1guyy Wherever you go, best wishes for you. :)

Sherry920614 I soo agree. I want to go to BU because its in a big city and second since I am not originally from the States I want to have a college experience in a diverse environment.

That1guyy the only reason I’m waiting for Vanderbilt decision is because BU didn’t give me enough aid (only 34k). Taking out the rest in loans will b crazy cuz by the time I graduate I’ll have a house mortgage without a house.

BU is taking so long to inform me of my admission decision. I honestly am sick of waiting, so much so that I don’t even want to go if I get in anymore. I’m over it

^
Then tell them to cancel your application.

@dpayan7
I agree with that1guyy. If you reallly are over it, then canceling your application would be the most thoughtful to those who are still waiting. If you still want to go, then just give it another week! They probably won’t take more than that give out the rest of the decisions.

Anyone else hear back?? I think next week is the last week!

I called them last week and they said decision will be released before July…
“by the end of june” the lady said . :banghead:

Hi everyone. I applied late to transfer from Suffolk university. By the time everything was in to the admissions office, it took 12 days for me to hear back about a decision. I have been accepted into their neuroscience program!

For those of you who didn’t yet hear back… Did you also apply late? I ha everything in by May 21st. They said I could still apply because the commonapp was still open. I am surprised they got back to me in twelve days!

i am just wondering what dorm are all y’all living in? i am planning on transffering in jan

All of my classes transferred except my freshman seminar. Woohoo and I have AP credits that will also transfer so I still get to be a sophomore!

Hi everyone, I just finished up my freshman year at Union college as a Mechanical Engineer. However, I decided I would try my luck at transferring to a bigger city school. I only got into BU but now I’m torn. Union has given me a little more financial aid but at the same time, I am really intrigued by city atmosphere of BU. So I was hoping to have some input on this. Pros and Cons of each choice. I know its kinda hard to compare the two programs given one is for a small liberal arts college with engineering as opposed to a large research university. So yea, any input would be nice and thank you!

I still haven’t got a reply yet still waiting!
They asked me to send proof of high school graduation though…

Yeap… I signed on to Bu and they charged over -3661 in fees for fall, so I’m not showing up.

HEY BU TRANSFER STUDENT!?!?!?!? hows life at BU and boston like?? i am applying for January admissions and i am just wondering did yall find housing ok? living on or off campus??? what kind of transfer transition programs did BU do and were they any good?
