ECs:
-I moved out right when school started and was working 3 jobs at once (I don’t include all of these below as some of them are little jobs like hostessing) as well as going to school full time. I was very overwhelmed by the end of it and took a semester off. I resumed school in fall of 2012 after working my butt off to sustain my living. I still retain my status of full-time student with a full time job (I work full time about 5-6 days a week and go to school at night).
-Active Volunteer with Helen Woodward Animal Center (just finished Hope Telethon!) 2008-Present
-Miscellaneous trips to LA and Downtown San Diego to exercise my artistic abilities on alley walls (basically street art, don’t know if this counts under EC?)
-Sales Associate at Pier 1 Imports 2011-2012
-Administrative Assistant at Noonan Family Swim School 2012-2013

I know my ECs for college are VERY limited, I just can’t seem to find the time to actually do much else besides work and go to school. Will this hinder my chances?

I am also applying to University of Miami, American University, University of Michigan, USC, Emerson College, and Bard College. (I also applied to Brown University back in high school and was rejected, debating whether or not to apply again, I don’t think it’s realistic of me haha).

Oh I forgot my standardized test scores!

ACT: 30

I didn’t like my SAT scores much :P

I’m such a scatter brain .-. Sorry guys…

My question: is the Mid Term report important, because I have one class that I have a bad grade: 60 on an assignment, and that’s the only assignment so far. Does that hurt my chance?

Hey guys!

I went to BU transfer session last Friday and they said they would start reading our applications this weekend and for those of us who already have a complete application, we should start hearing back from them in the beginning of April…

Does it mean their decisions are on a rolling basis?

I thought they would wait for all the applications to be complete, and then send their decisions around May… Well, seems that I was wrong.

BU transfer rate seems soooo low compared to other schools… let’s just keep our fingers crossed!

(Sorry my English, not native speaker…)

Is mid-term report required? It wasn’t mentioned anywhere.

edit: Nevermind; it is now on my applicant account.

Anyone know how important this is? MY GPA is good and i plan to keep it up for Spring 2013 but my first tests weren’t that good, so my mid term report will falsely show a decline in grades. My teachers do drop one test so it is not indicative of the final course grade. How can i let BU know that???

Really? I knew we had to submit our mid-term, but it is not on my applicant account.

that1guyy, maybe you should email or call them and explain the situation.

Marmun, when I asked them on Facebook, they said transfer decisions will be posted in mid-May to mid-June.

However, the admission guy on the BU transfer session said some people - the ones who already have a complete application - would start being notified of their decisions in April.

Now I am really confused. I do hope we get decisions around April since I have some other colleges waiting…

Where are all the transfer students?
Come on guys, let’s share our anxiety and wait until we hear something back from BU.

Thankfully today I just checked the website and all my materials have been received, including the mid-term report.

transfer to SMG as Finance major. Chance please
college gpa: two transcripts. first year i got 2.89 second year i got 3.83 (failed one class, otherwise cumulative GPA is 3.4)
mid-term report: 4.0 (retaking the failed class)
IELTS: 8.0/9.0
hs gpa: 2.9
EC: several high positions at work, a couple awards, and a few business clubs
Don’t need finaid
Anxiety: all time high

The portal doesn’t even say that I need to submit a midterm report. Is that abnormal?
