Mine loved the food last year at Bowdoin and this year works in dining. He is so impressed by how much the staff cares about what they produce each week! Been a good experience…

We’re discussing the possibility of an on-campus job for my admit kid. How many hours a week is yours working?
She has a full ride at Pepperdine waiting for her, but wants to go to the East Coast… That is her safety:)

He works 2 days a week for about 8-10 hours ( during the pandemic) and sometimes picks up an extra shift if needed. During regular times there are many many opportunities to work- so folks might just do 3 hours/ week etc.

does anyone have a guess how many applicants were waitlisted? bowdoin’s waitlist letter said they don’t know many people will be on the waitlist until all the replies by may 1st but they do know many applicants were waitlisted but don’t want to say.

Last year, I believe 600-700 students accepted their place on Bowdoin’s waitlist. The size of the waitlist depends on how many students accept their offer, so they cannot tell you the number now. Applicants are only waitlisted if they accept the waitlist offer.
I’m not sure. I know in 2019 that no one was taken off the WL.
@banditofrito One of my D’s classmates got in off the WL last year shortly after the May 1 deadline. Unfortunately, Bowdoin doesn’t report WL information in their Common Data Set.
It’s especially hard to predict this year. I would guess that yield for all these schools are likely to decrease this year, due to people applying to more schools than usual, so more people may be taken off the WL.
