I sure hope so. Actually I'm so nervous I don't know if I want it to come early or late!

anyone receive an early acceptance yet?

According to the Facebook group (Bowdoin College 2012), some people have already receieved their acceptances for RD.

Hey guys, I received my acceptance letter a couple days ago and it says the rest of the letters will be sent out on March 26. Hope that calms some of your nerves! =)

thanks d_rolla?

d_rollla08

Congrats on your acceptance!

Thank you premed!

Congrats! And thank you for telling us when the rest of the acceptances (and rejections) will be mailed out. Will you be enrolling?

I'm not sure if I will be enrolling. I really love Bowdoin. The atmosphere is great, campus is great, people are great.... but I'm not sure if my intended major is a strong point of Bowdoin.... which may ultimately sway my decision.

I visited Bowdoin in October for a few days (went with a group of QuestBridge students) and LOVED IT. It felt like camping in the Colorado mountains.... and since I'm from Colorado, I enjoyed it very much! Idk... I really like the place!

What is your major, if you don't mind sharing?

It's music. I know Bowdoin has a music program but it is so small. There are many pros and cons to a small department, so I will have some decisions to make.

I was really impressed with the music department, especially the choir director and the voice instructors. Yes, its small, but I am not sure a larger or more recognized faculty matters if you are one among many undergrads. I have a close friend who went to harvard to study piano with a specific guy who ended up blowing him off most of the time for his more advanced or well known students. I think the overall atmosphere of one on one learning is what counts, in every dept. Do you play an instrument?

Bowdoin's music program is excellent, though, especially for a small liberal arts school. I would think it a good school for a music major. So congrats. (again!)

Thanks guys. =) Yeah, I visited the music department and I guess you can say I was a little sad to see only one main room. lol. I understand completely about the one on one instruction time, which is what most attracts me, I'm just not sure. =)

Ekmom, Yes, I play lots of instruments! But my two main are alto sax and F horn. I plan to study music composition.

If you don't mind me asking, what is the other school that you are considering?

That's a good question that I'm curious about too. But understood if you don't want to share.

Umm, well I guess right now only Dartmouth because that (besides Bowdoin) is the only school I have heard back from out of the ones I really want to go to, but I still have some waiting to do. Idk. I mean there are many factors which will influence my final decision, but music is definitely one of the bigger ones.

Wow..Bowdoin vs. Dartmouth...A couple of nice choices.

Oh.....wow. That decision is a little difficult. Both are superb schools. Congratulations on being accepted to both of them! I'm sure you'll be happy at whichever one you choose. Best of luck.

Woah I also have to make a decision between Dartmouth and Bowdoin right now..i just don't know.
