Figured I'd make it, the deadline has safely passed.

UPDATE: Just got my username and password in an email from Brown, I had called earlier in the week to see why I hadn't received them yet and was told that the office that deals with transfer applicants was swamped... because they got so many applicants. Last year Brown received around 1400 transfer applicants, its seriously bad news for everyone if they got even more this year. With so many people applying, I figure my chances are low.

I don't really want this thread to turn into a pure statistics bonanza (but I know everyone is curious, so I'll post a few of mine anyways), I just want to see who else applied to Brown!

A little about me -

-Applying as a Freshman
-Attend University of New Hampshire (Honors Program)
-4.0 first semester (not a terribly difficult course load however..)
-Solid GPA in high school with tough classes
-Outstanding EC's and Rec's --> I think it's my strongest point in my application
-LOW test scores... 1900 SAT with no subject tests --> obviously my weakest point
-I did not apply for financial aid

Overall, I'm not confident in my chances, but who knows? I worked extremely hard on my essays, and I think I'd be a perfect fit for Brown's curriculum. I realize that most everyone who applied has a terrific application, I'd be honored just to make the waiting list...

Good luck to everyone!

Brown is still missing some of my items. Do you think I should call them and ask what’s going on?

Let’s stay together!

glad somebody started a thread for brown. i really rushed my why brown essay, so i’m not confident about being accepted. still, i’m glad i applied - it’s very exciting, this whole process. gl to everyone.

what do you guys like about brown?? i talked about how brown integrates curatorial experiences throughout their campus (there’s a renowned museum on-campus and many of the research centers put on exhibits) and why that would serve my career interests.

transfers2010… I’d wait a little longer before calling. Like I said earlier, they were experiencing huge delays, so I’d just be patient. If you don’t have anything by next Monday I would call.

I applied from a Tier 1 university.
3.8+ GPA with reasonable course load.
2300+ SAT
Strong high school EC’s
Wish I could have been more active first semester, but am in full swing now.
Unsure of recs (I did not know my counselor at all).

I do not consider my chances to be good at all, but I can only hope. I feel a great deal will rest on essays and recs, which I have no one to really objectively compare with.

Hello B transfer applicants and good luck to everyone! It’s a little early for decisions yet, but once they are in, I hope that you are willing to help with this CC survey thread that I started last year:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/936056-brown-transfer-applicant-survey-fa-need-aware-admissions.html?highlight=need-aware

Since B is need-aware for transfer admissions and states that it has limited FA for transfers, it would be extremely helpful to find out the actual experiences of applicants. So, whatever decision you get, any additional data points will assist future B transfer applicants.

Thanks!

anybody know for sure when we find out??? the wait is killing me

We hear back mid may I believe, I’m really curious to know how many applications they received… I think I might call and ask

I was so confused when some of my stuff are not received yet when some are already received. the thing is that i sent All the stuffs i in ONE envelope, if they received some they shud have received the rest…

I sent my secondary school report on February 8 and they still haven’t received/processed it yet. Are you just going to resend the materials they are missing?

I have a quick question – on my applicant portal, everything is listed as received but only the Application Fee and SAT Scores have anything next to them in the status column. Is this the same for everyone?

@safetosay - mine is like that too. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Are there any Brown transfer statistics?

is it just me or do you guys have the same click button for the decision status?

@peter - Yes, I do. But it leads me to a page that say transfer decisions have not been made yet.

Is anyone else concerned about when they’ll announce decisions? Last year, they announced transfer decisions on May 10th or 11th, I think (It’s on the Brown 2010 Transfer thread). I have a few schools that require my decision by May 1st. Should I contact admissions with my question? I’m not expecting much, but I’d hate to make a wrong choice because I wasn’t notified by all the colleges I applied to when I was required to make a decision.

Anyone else getting anxious?

So I’m applying for Fall Admission and I am curious as to what is on the box that says “STATUS” on your application requirement for the ff.
