cindyQ i’m thinking of doing something that has to do with film or art somehow (possibly designing). How about yourself?

Hey Brown ED applicants,

I want to wish you all the best of luck for when you hear from Brown in a couple days. I’m sure you all are smart talented students that Brown would be lucky to have. Whether or not they decide to accept you does not change that.

I know you all must be dying, waiting to hear from them, but please do not make yourselves any crazier than necessary waiting. Checking the website every time you go online days before Brown says results will be posted and counting down the minutes until you hear will not making it any easier or make you more likely to get it. I know you all want to get in badly or you probably would not have chosen to apply hear early. However do not let Browns decision to accept, defer, or reject you define you.

I offer you this advice as someone who went through this process last year, specifically with Brown. I wanted to get in so badly I drove myself crazy all of December waiting to hear from them. I was deferred and it made me really upset and angry and confused about where I would end up. While everyone can agree that it would be very nice to end the college application process in December and be able to enjoy the rest of senior year worry free, not getting in early was not the end of the world. Having the opportunity to apply regular decision really opens up a lot of possibilities. There are a lot of great schools out there, including Washington University in St. Louis, where I now attend. Asides from the fact that I need to study for finals right now I absolutely love it. So what I am trying to say is that I hope you do not stress out too much about early decision results. If you get in, congratulations! I hope you love it. And if you don’t get in, there truly are plenty of other great and even better schools out there that you could be happy at.

The college application process is a b*tch, but do not let it get you down!

ogopogo, well I’m might do sth about advertising and marketing.. I’m not sure whether I would do the designing or administration thing yet… I’ve done one film with my friends in high school, but I’ve never done any designing thing…I’d love to try some in college though. Are u interested in the RIDS double major? I might not do that 'cause it’s a little bit too “artistic”..I’m more interested in the philosophy and sociology aspect

Just curious…is anyone getting and email about when they should log into the Brown website to check for their results? I know that some of my friends who applied ED last year got emails before the notification date telling them when to log on so that the website wouldn’t be bombarded with students all at once…then no one will be able to get to it. I just plan on checking around 7 just to avoid the craziness.

I haven’t gotten any email like that.

me neither

me neither

me neither

FerrisBsGF:

AMEN!!!

Thank you.

Incidentally, my D and I visited Wash U in late August and she loved it. She also ran into an old friend (Chino) and he was very happy, too. She really wants to be in Cal (closer to home), but Wash U is definitely on her list!

Ok, i guess they aren’t doing that…just wanted to know! =)

ahhh i’m so nervous guys! one of my best friends got deferred from dartmouth today, and one of my other really good friends got deferred from washu… =[ i’m freaking outttt!

My poor friend who applied to Chicago is going nuts because they didn’t give an exact date of when they’ll post decisions… they just said “mid-December.” Doesn’t that suck?

yes!!! thank goodness we know at least when it’s coming!

i can’t sleep. i’m so wired and nervous and going insaneeee!
i have a math test tomorrow and i can’t focus for long enough to study because all i can think about is tomorrow night!

oh man
tomorrow, this time, some of us will be ecstatic, others will be depressed..it’s so sad to see people not get in when he/she is so dedicated to the the school, as all of us obviously are (i mean, look at the dreams thread…)
whatever happens, good luck, i hope to see you there, but lets all go in with an open mind.
Best :)

Today is the day…i’m so nervous that I’m really not nervous (yes i know that doesn’t make sense).

I wish everyone the best of luck!!!

Brown changed the tracking page!!! It’s all set up for the decisions now!!!

Really?? How? Mine is all the same as it was.

The site took awhile to load, though.
