The most elite will receive fall admission because Brown won’t want to lose a stellar candidate to another institution

Finally found my way over, thanks Sakari for directing me here! I’d have sworn the 2012 thread was on the university’s board! Wherever it was, I don’t think the 2012 thread was quite as manic haha. But I can definitely understand it, wanting to be accepted so badly. Also, Monday?! Jesus. These next four days are going to be painfully slow.

Welcome, anthro! Enjoy your stay at the Paranoid Brown Transfers Waiting Room.

Is anyone else getting post-application hindsight? I keep thinking about my essays and my application and thinking I should’ve written about this, or done this differently, or not applied for FA…I think that is probably the worst part about waiting, I keep thinking of ways it could all have gone wrong.

But on the bright side, it is now officially a new day on the East Coast and will be in four minutes here (CST). I have that Brown/Les Mis crossover song stuck in my head. I’m sort of itching to do a full cover. Hmm, stay tuned.

Edit: pun not intended.

@anthro4387

Welcome back!!

@Sakari Don’t worry about your applications. Brown needs students like you, creative and independent thinker. I would be so ****ed if you didn’t accepted!! seriously!!

that feeling of wanting to know but also not know…

Yay!! Just finished all my finals yesterday and got full mark in my math exam :)

Are any financial aid applicants receiving a message when they go to the “Financial Aid Messages” link under the “Financial Aid” tab?

@hopeforthebest94
Congratulations!! probably my Calc final gonna ruin my life! lol

@app2013 I’m a financial aid applicant and there are no messages. did you get anything?

I did. It’s from May 7th, and it says, “This notification is a result of a detailed review of your and your family’s federal tax returns and/or total assets.”

Reviewing last year’s thread, I don’t think it means anything one way or another.

But it certainly makes the wait even more agonizing.

oh God! the fact that you received a notification and I didn’t triggering hundreds of conspiracy theories in my head!!!

tomorrow the guys in here will investigate this development…I’m going back to studying.

@app2013 … i am a finaid applicant and i have no message.

No message here, either. If you look at the 2012 transfer thread, some people were accepted who did not receive any messages. Nightwisher, it might be because you submitted your IDOC late, same as me. Don’t worry! :)

Sakari! oh thanks. I knew that you would go and investigate this. :)

my summer break will start in exactly 24 hours from now. Those who done with finals, how’s your summer so far? any major plans?

Yay, summer break! Are you glad to be done?

I’ve applied for about seven jobs in my area, haha. Waiting to hear back about internships. Transfer stuff took up all my time, so I missed a lot of internship deadlines. But even if I don’t do anything this summer, I’ll probably take care of my baby sister and teach my siblings Mandarin. My mother’s glad to have me home because I can take care of the baby.

Side note: my baby sister is so cute, you guys. I don’t know if I’m allowed to post personal information here, otherwise I’d link you to my Facebook so you can see the videos I uploaded, because she is precious. It’d probably provide some stress relief. xD Maybe I’ll upload them to YouTube.

awwwww that sounds really cute!!! Babies are definitely stress relief.
I have no words to describe how much I miss my family. I haven’t seen them since I came to the US, over 2 years. hopefully I will get to see them this summer!! :)

divulging personal information could be a bad idea. Because there could be some admission officers trolling around the threads. But I still love to see you baby sister!!

Organic Chemistry 1&2 for me…at least I’ll be down by the beach in Charleston, SC

The beach! Lucky. My parents haven’t even let me get my license.

Pre-decision anxieties: I indicated Sociology as my major interest on my application, but I’m not actually a Sociology major at my school. I’m enrolled in an interdisciplinary program and thought the Sociology concentration at Brown was most closely related to my interests. Problem is, there is already a Sociology department at my university, and I haven’t taken any classes, but I’ve taken classes on the particular concentration (Diversity and Inequality). But I don’t think Brown will see it that way–more like, “this girl is completely switching majors her junior year, what is going on”. (This is what happens when you think too much about your application.)

i was wondering if anyone called today, since they change decision dates everyday?

You got a Mickey Mouse voice? Get to it.
