@Sakari: Haha do you know how many people got off the waitlist last year? I’m just hoping it’s a lot considering the fact that brown has a higher admit rate than other ivies.

Of those of you who were admitted, did you visit the campus or otherwise show interest in Brown (i.e., did you also apply as freshmen)? A friend’s son is waiting to hear too and I am afraid his chances won’t be great since he didn’t do either of the above. :(

Accepted! I’m so shocked, I thought my Brown app was one of my worst ones.

@Sally, I didn’t apply as a freshman or visit campus since I live so far away.

@Sally, I applied as a freshman and visited campus last winter quarter. It helps, but doesn’t determine.

@malleilactone I did the /exact/ same thing! Reading the acceptance letter was actually more thrilling than the call I had so convinced myself I was dreaming. Woohoo!!!

I got rejected! :(

Oh noooo, Nightwisher. -hugs- I’m so sorry! You’ve been one of the most helpful and nice people on this thread. I wish there was a way to reverse the decision, because you seriously deserved it.

Rejected… But going to Columbia in the fall! Congrats to all the admitted students!

Nightwisher no!! Sakari you better make it off that waitlist! I don’t understand how they even have one, I remember specifically reading that “transfer decisions result in either acceptance or rejection”

hey guys, congratulation for those accepted and cheer up for those rejected as there still are more decisions left from other school. For a prospective Brown transfer applicant for next year, could you share your stats and decisions? It would greatly help me in estimating which range I’m in. Thanks.

Can the accepted students please post their stats?

What was your stats?

Congratulations to you guys!!! Sakari please get yourself off that waitlist.

anyway I will be fine!! :)

Got wait-listed

I guess I should just go to Amherst.

sleepytransfer: I know how you feel. Do what you think is best for you–if you can go through all that waiting and hoping again, I’ll be right there beside you! If you go to Amherst and I don’t get off the waitlist, I’ll be doing an exchange program with Hampshire College, so we might be able to meet. :)

Nightwisher: You rock, and don’t you forget that. :)

@sleepytransfer Amherst is fantastic! If I were you, I would choose Amherst over Brown.

My best friend graduated from Amherst and loved every minute of it.

Rejected! Oh well, off to Dartmouth! (I think I got into Dartmouth and not Brown or Columbia because I didn’t apply to Brown or Columbia out of high school, while this was my second time applying to Dartmouth.) Anyhow, congratulations to everyone who was accepted! Say hi to Emma Watson for me please!

@ Sakari

Lets do it, at least we both have good back ups. It would be great if we both get in, but I think now our chances are lower than before.
Any way I wish you luck and Hampshire is a good college.

@Lumberjack

I know Amherst is amazing. But, I just love Brown. Since, you like Amherst and I prefer Brown. Let’s exchange our admissions :P

Others, who have been accepted, congratulations!

@sleepytransfer, @Sakari

I got waitlisted too, do yall have any idea what our chances may be? Have any anecdotal support?

BASICALLY: Anyone know how the transfer waitlist works?

everyone on the waitlist: lets stay strong
