Don’t think Brown has specified a date but has anyone called AO about that?
Probably sometime in the next two weeks. Do they base our decisions on the amount of regular students who reject or accept their offers?
@misfits2123 , I believe they do. It is all about that yield rate. But they do have a fixed number of seats for transfers. If If their yield rate is low, then they will allow for more transfer above the fixed number of seats they already have for us. This is why their acceptance rate for transfers is increasing as more and more highschool applicants go to other Ivies/top-tier schools. Hope that makes some sense to you.
@BatWonder77 Thanks for the reply! It was helpful. Does this mean that Brown is not a good school relative to other selective schools?
@CCstudent12345 , Brown is an Ivy League. That is all you need to know In my opinion its a Top 50 school in the world.
What’s the transfer acceptance rate for Brown?
According to Brown’s website, it was more than 16% last year. But if you go here https://www.brown.edu/about/administration/institutional-research/sites/brown.edu.about.administration.institutional-research/files/uploads/CDS_2015-2016%20to%20use.pdf, which was the official report every college has to fill out every year, it was 9% last year.
16% Fall and Spring combined
@cornell1203 According to their website it was 11.3% in 2014, 9.2% in 2014, and 16.7% in 2015. https://www.brown.edu/admission/undergraduate/apply/transfer-applicants
Anyone else have an alert that says thanks for applying and that your decision is due May 2nd?
@CudleWudles Where did you see that?
lol that’s an alert for admitted high school students, reminding them that they need to either accept or decline Brown’s offer.
Come on now.
Thanks for posting that report @AimHighandFight ! Always interesting to look at the racial/ethnic category…
Oh its also says on there that the notification date is May 15th!
According to previous Brown Transfer College Confidential Threads
Fall 2015 Notification: May 14
Fall 2014 Notification: May 15
Fall 2013 Notification: May 13
Ugh Im so nervous!!!
May 15th is sunday tho???
It doesn’t say anywhere that it’s May 15 this year?
Oh shoot you’re right, probably the 13th or the 16th then right?
I have a deposit due in ~a week for another school I was accepted into. i’ve heard that if you call the AO and tell them a deposit is due, they’ll disclose your admission decision. can anybody confirm/deny if this is true? or just an urban myth?
I’m pretty sure if that was the case, everyone would just call up and lie about having a deposit due lol. But yeah, just use your common sense. Brown isn’t exactly desperate for students, so they’re not going to give you an unfair advantage and disclose your decision early just because you have to pay a deposit for another school.
