Writing (Rate Quality on 1-10 Scale; 10 as Best):[ul]
[] Essays/u:
[li] Common App Main: A long story about the lesson I learned from an experience from when I was younger, and how it has contributed to the person I am today[/li][] EC Short Answer: Talked about the trip I ran to tour 9 colleges. I talked about how I changed the club and geared it toward educating my school about the prospects of college, and how we tripled membership.
[] Why Brown: I talked about how I love the open cirriculum (whoopdee doo!), loved the architecture, and mentioned some of the manuscripts it possesses that I love, like that from Henry David Thoreau -my idol!
[]Academic Interest: Talked about the previously-mentioned Science Expo, why I participate in it, and what I have done to make a difference (I helped expand the event from 400 third graders to over 600 & helped create a night showing, open to the community).
[li]Supplemental: I talked about my experiences with dissecting a cat for Anatomy, and related it to my unbounded academic interests. Really interesting; I wrote it in a different style, and thought it was quite the unique metaphor. Lol.[/li][/ul]
[li] Teacher Recommendation #1: From Science teacher I had for Honors Chem, AP Bio, Honors Physics, faculty advisor for CSF, and worked with on the Science Expo. It was very sincere[/li][li] Teacher Recommendation #2: From English teacher I had for 3 years for Honors 10th grade English to this year’s AP English. It was also very nice, praising me highly[/li][li] Counselor Rec: Very nice woman, she liked me, and thought I was very smart, and probably stated so.[/li][li] Additional Rec: From Anatomy teacher; was my best rec. She said I had raised the standard in her class for years to come, and related an anecdote from my community service -an instance at the local retirement home I have frequented.[/li][li] Interview: It went okay. It was in a small coffee shop. There were some silent moments, and she wasn’t the most sociable of interviewers, but I was excited to be there, and she knew that. I also followed up with an e-mail for a question she asked that I couldn’t answer too well, and ended up submitting this 1,500 word tale about my individuality and uniqueness. I wonder if she read it… or if it made a difference![/li]
Other[ul]

Reflection[ul]
[li] Strengths: I have some interersting EC’s, and I think they were quite strong relative to my area and situation.[/li][li] Weaknesses: Low test scores.[/li][li] Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: I am very happy with a waitlisting, as much as it hurts. I thought I had a very weak chance, considering the strong applicants this school recieves. In such, I am honored to have been waitlisted. Nevertheless, I’m ripping my hair out. I haven’t gotten into to a single private school I applied to. I was waitlisted at UofChicago and Pomona as well, and rejected at Stanford and Yale. Reached a little beyond my means with these applications! Oops! xD[/li][li] What would you have done differently?: Eh, not sure. It would be nice to know what would have pushed me over the edge, but I’m still considerably happy that I even got waitlisted.[/ul]
[/li]

**General Comments: **I’m going to try my hardest and do everything in my power to get off the waiting list! I absolutely LOVE Brown! Hopefully the waitinglist isn’t too bad!
