JW, why is “income bracket” included? Brown is need-blind.

potterpie, that’s so we can get a good laugh

It has nothing to do with need blind, I think it’s there that in spite of being "need blind’ schools look at a person’s socioeconomic background as evidenced by where there school is, how good or bad it is, the neighborhood and try to determine (especially in case of a URM) how disadvantaged the person was in overcoming obstacles. Seems more fair actually than just minority status no? It’s covered in many admissions books–sorry to add clutter here but since it was made a joke thought it was worth a clarification-it is there IMHO for a valid reason. And no, they don’t ask (unless you apply for FA).

Bumping this up, so no one creates another “Official ED thread”. Post at 5PM with your Official Decisions (Not A0, etc.)

So much anticipation!

good luck! when does it come out btw

[] Weaknesses: Low academics and test scores.
[] Why you think you were accepted/deferred: I was not a terrible applicant, but I was nowhere near the best. Deferred makes sense.
[li] Where else were you accepted/deferred:[/ul] So far: Accepted at UCF. I guess I’ll just go in-state to UF now (once I am accepted). I applied nowhere else out of state, although I could if I wanted to.[/li]General Comments: Well, I have been looking at CC for so many years now. I never imagined when I would actually be typing one of these results things.

I am disappointed that I do not get to go to Brown (I know I was deferred, but it’s the concept of right now), but I will heal. I never expected to get in. Just a glimmer of hope was in my eye that maybe, just maybe, I would get in and be able to bask in the glory of Brown.

I could write pages on my reflections, so I will spare you and make this short.

I suppose I will go to the University of Florida now and postpone my dream of doing I-banking.

I have legacy at Princeton but it is too late to apply being as my subject tests are bad.

My parents want me to go in-state as it is.

I conclude sadly and look hopefully to when I apply for graduate schools.

Feel free to PM me.
