[/ul]General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc: I can basically trace my rejection to my interview. The interview was only 20 minutes long. She basically recited all of the questions that Brown gives interviews as a guide. She was a complete idiot who was uncomfortable with making actual conversation.

Admittedly, I was late to the interview. I made the stupid mistake of forgetting to re-check the time in the e-mail, and thought it was a half hour later than it actually was. I hit myself on the head multiple times for that one, but that shouldn’t have been a reason to reject me. If only this woman had been intelligent, and not a dull dimwit who doesn’t know ***** about college or students or what makes a good candidate for a school…

I was rejected from both Ivy League schools I applied to. I was accepted into some very prestigious schools, but they wouldn’t give us any financial aid. My family’s income is in that weird middle-class realm that’s too well-off to get financial aid but too poor to actually afford college. Only the Ivy Leagues really have programs that give money to this kind of income. On top of that, other colleges included my parents retirement savings along with their calculations. If I had gone to one of those schools, my parents would have to put off their retirement.

Now I’m going to Fordham University on a full scholarship in the Honors Program. I’ve become fed up with the American University system. I have decided that I’m going to go to graduate school in a foreign country, where tuition is only a few thousand dollars a year. In the end, this will give me an advantage over any Ivy League undergrads, because I’ll have a better life experience and education than any of them, all at a lower price. If there are any other rejected applicants reading this, I suggest you do the same.
If the system rejects you, reject the system and find a better way to achieve what you want. :)

No PaJason, the reason he was accepted was because he was creative. He was himself on the application. i’m guessing (90% sure) of the Asians and Whites with 1500 SATS in your school were boring, mechanic beings. Brown, among other top schools, not only look for grades, they look for promise in someone who they think will do something useful with their education. Creativity demonstrates an ability to think outside the box and take risks. That’s what they want

~If one were to take out the use of URM hooks from admissions decisions to top colleges, everyone’s chances will only go up .5% …blatant affirmative action was big in the past, but now you will often find that the blacks and minorities who do get in, are just as qualified as any white, asian, or indian applicant.

Any way a mod can sticky this thread?
