astrogirl, those weren’t the actual stats. Those were just the spots they were expecting to get filled - look on the collegeboard website. 19,000 admitted with only 3800 choosing to attend. They accepted roughly 30% this year.

Accepted to CAS/Kilachand Honors College/Presidential Scholarship! I did NOT expect the honors college or the scholarship because I heard they were extremely rare so this was a super pleasant surprise!

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Personal Statement
General Comments: So happy!!!

So it starts with what seems to be a rejection (and it is for Fall 2014) and you want to just not finish reading. BUT it call my attn it was a rather long statement to tell me I was rejected. So decided to just read the entire thing to learn that I am offer a guarantee conditional transfer blabla…I Have read about it on CC Cornell thread. Didn’t know BU also used it.

My son was rejected from the school of management with a 3.7 unweighted GPA, 9APs, top 100 high school, etc… 34 act and leadership positions in EC’s and national awards. My husband attended BU. The letter said it was “especially hard for the committee due to your families personal relationship with the University”
NYU Stern is his first choice, where he is a triple legacy (me, my mom, my grandfather) plus my daughter class of 11 at Stern. I hope NYU cares more about legacy than BU does, I am very surprised, and upset, but he is totally ok with it, which is all that matters. will go to Michigan if NYU doesn’t work out. Congrats to the rest of you!!!

I’m incredibly dejected. Rejected with a 3.7 UW, 2320 SAT, tons of good EC’s. BU was supposed to be a safety, but by no means did I decrease my interest in it.
