SAT: 2020
ACT: 33
GPA: 3.8
AP: 5 classes

Actually really shocked because I was just accepted to Syracuse/Newhouse, which is a far better program…

Accepted into SMG. I am seriously shocked I got in, my essays were probably top notch, no way i’d get in stats alone.

SAT: 1350/1960

GPA: 3.3/3.7 W

7 APs, 4 Honors

Couple other ECs, worked alongside a voting advocacy group major participation in my area

No aid, but SMG may or may not be worth it. We’ll see.

Accepted to CAS
4.18 GPA (W)
28 ACT
Many ECs, national honors for band, worked on Obama’s campaign

Thrilled, but will not attend. I was not given any aid other than federal loans. Very, very disappointed.

@TomSrOfBoston well I calculated it with the stats I was given in the decision letter. Sorry if I’m wrong. I did it with the info they gave me.

Is the portal working for you guys?? Mine says it’s experiencing heavy volume, try again later…

astrogirl, those weren’t the actual stats. Those were just the spots they were expecting to get filled - look on the collegeboard website. 19,000 admitted with only 3800 choosing to attend. They accepted roughly 30% this year.

BU’s Twitter mentions that this was the most competitive class in their history. :D

Rejected… my second rejection in a row after UCLA

Accepted to CAS/Kilachand Honors College/Presidential Scholarship! I did NOT expect the honors college or the scholarship because I heard they were extremely rare so this was a super pleasant surprise!
Stats for context:
SAT: 2380
GPA: 3.94 UW, 4.55 W
EC’s are all right, I volunteer at a Holocaust center so I wrote “why BU” about that and Elie Wiesel.
I can’t think of anything else I might need to include but my endless congratulations to those who were accepted, and to those who were not, I’m very sorry BU is going to be missing out on you and I wish you a wonderful four years.

Accepted:)
GPA: 4.7 W
ACT: 26
But it’s for the CGS!

Where do you guys find out about Kilichand? Is it in the Admissions decision section? I assume I got rejected from that so I’m pretty upset :(

No financial aid??? wow BU…thrift college!!!

Lol what. Rejected. 3.97 UW, 2240 SAT, 33 ACT. Ohhhhkay then. Got into UCLA though? Hmm.

D got accepted to the BU science program with a decent merit package. We are very happy for her.
ACT 32
GPA 3.85 UW
Many EC’s including music, theater, sports, job and volunteer hours.
Now comes the tough part to decide where to go. Northeastern or BU. Good luck to all that were accepted in deciding.

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Personal Statement
General Comments: So happy!!!

So it starts with what seems to be a rejection (and it is for Fall 2014) and you want to just not finish reading. BUT it call my attn it was a rather long statement to tell me I was rejected. So decided to just read the entire thing to learn that I am offer a guarantee conditional transfer blabla…I Have read about it on CC Cornell thread. Didn’t know BU also used it.

My son was rejected from the school of management with a 3.7 unweighted GPA, 9APs, top 100 high school, etc… 34 act and leadership positions in EC’s and national awards. My husband attended BU. The letter said it was “especially hard for the committee due to your families personal relationship with the University”
NYU Stern is his first choice, where he is a triple legacy (me, my mom, my grandfather) plus my daughter class of 11 at Stern. I hope NYU cares more about legacy than BU does, I am very surprised, and upset, but he is totally ok with it, which is all that matters. will go to Michigan if NYU doesn’t work out. Congrats to the rest of you!!!

I’m incredibly dejected. Rejected with a 3.7 UW, 2320 SAT, tons of good EC’s. BU was supposed to be a safety, but by no means did I decrease my interest in it.

the lady that visited my school told me the supplement can make or break… so maybe thatwhy

My supplement was well thought out, and passionate.
