Official Cal Poly Early Decision

CalPoly91, what were your stats?

Here are my stats:
GPA: 4.23 weighted and 4.0 unweighted
SAT (crit. reading and math): 1290

I think what also helped me was that I took a college course through UCSD Extension that relates to my major (Introduction to Programming).

anyone going in as a bio major

I just noticed i forgot to put my cal poly gpa, sorry zungra.
Its a 4.3, btw.

i got accepted into the school of business  anyone a econ major??

I’m bringing it back!

Well, once Cal Poly starts accepting early decision applications I’m definitely going to try for it.
Intended Major: Mechanical Engineering (probably?..)
SAT: 1290; 1900 including the essay
GPA: 4.0 unweighted; 4.22 weighted

I’ve taken almost all AP classes for my junior/senior years, 2 years of Student Government, average amount of community service, and I play soccer. Not sure if it matters, but for my AP tests I got a 5 for US history and a 4 for both Calc and English lang/comp. What do you guys think?

Also, it’s a little off topic, but does anyone know of any other really hands-on colleges for engineering. I’ve been searching, but I haven’t gotten any clear answers. If you know of any good threads on this topic let me know.

Looks good although you might do well to take he ACT and if you score over 30 use that instead. Mechanical Engineering is a good major to apply for as it is a large major with more openings than say Bio Medical Engineering. BioMed has just a handful of openings and the smart way to go for that major is to go for General Engineering and then transfer into BioMed after your first quarter. MechEng does not have that issue so apply direct.

Other hands on programs include Cal Poly Pomona, Virginia Tech, Rose Hulman (caution - really skewed student population 80% male/20% female), RPI, really any of the true pyrotechnical schools. Here is a list of US based schools that fit your interest. [Institute of Technology (United States) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](<a href=“Institute of technology (United States) - Wikipedia”>Institute of technology (United States) - Wikipedia)

What do you think of my chances? I will be applying soon and I think I have a fair chance. Please let me know!

Major: Kinesiology

GPA: 4.06 CSU GPA

I applied early decision and I’m SO nervous!!! When do we start finding out???

We should find out before December 15.
I do have lower stats, but am hoping for a miracle ;)

Major: Business Administration
A-G GPA: ~3.75
Weighted GPA: 4.01
ACT: 28
SAT( 1600, combined): 1290
Over 22 semesters of honors courses…
EC for years prior to senior year didn’t count huh? :/

So nervous!

Major: Architecture
Cal Poly GPA: 3.55
SAT: 1310 / 2040

OOS Asian with tons of ECs with leadership positions, 100 hrs of community service, and a graduate of University of Oregon’s Summer Architecture Academy

just letting you guys know, at cal poly i think EC etc like volunteer hours hardly mean anything, they literally ask how many hours did you work with not specifics, i don’t think anyone would not fill that out. From what i can tell its pretty much major, gpa, and sat or act that will decide. I mean even if someone didn’t have EC why would they not just say they did? And for leadership positions on the app it said … do you have a leader ship position? : yes or no?

they say december 15th officially, but it’s been earlier…

Has anyone heard anything yet?

Don’t expect to until at least the first week of December. Enjoy your Thanksgiving break instead of stressing :)
