I was wondering if anyone is applying early to engineering like me.
Good Luck!

Yes sir, I applied early decision to civil engineering with a 3.59W 1370 M+CR, decent work xp and extra-curriculars.

Good luck to us.

Wow, you are in for sure.

Lol I didnt think I had that great of a chance actually…

Sarcasm?

I applied m.e.

9-11 gpa 4.0
10-11 gpa 4.08
Act: 27 and sat 1270
I do tons of e.c. But none with my major

Not at all, my stats are way worse. I applied for Software Engineering.

Well, good luck to the both of us :).

Check out last years stats for incoming freshmen. http://www.ess.calpoly.edu/_admiss/Pdf/profile041509.pdf

Indeed, however I don’t think you guys are going to be needing too much luck .
Does anyone know the difficulty of getting into software engineering? I heard there were only 20 or so last year.

Applying Industrial Engineering-
GPA-4.0
ACT-24
21+ hours of work
16-20 ec’s
How do I stack up?

I applied to electrical engineering with a 4.19 weighted gpa, 1270 SAT and go to a private school in Utah. I just got accepted to electrical engineering at Rose Hulman so my hopes are high for Cal Poly.

Any AP classes such as Calc, Physics, or Chem? Assuming yes, I’d say your chances are good. The GPAs are great but the test scores are a tad light given the ever increasing competitive environment.

My classes are Ap Chem, Ap US history, AP Bio, Honors Bio, Ap Gov and Politics, Honors Calculus, Honors Physics, Honors Chemistry, Astronomy, and Oceanography.

you only compete against people for that specific major you chose, like if i was doing me, it would be against all the me people, right?

yessir. Which is why some majors are less competitive than others.

Exactly. It’s also a reason why it can be difficult to switch majors.

what are the most competitive engineer majors you think?

Civil,mechanical,electrical,and aerospace. IMO.

anyone know anything about Mat Eng? How hard it is to get into compared to other eng at Cal Poly?

wt bout the architectural enginerings? cause i applied ED for tht. is tht hard to get in?

electrical engineering
GPA-3.7
sat (m+cr)1280
act-30
and a bunch co-curriculars and honors courses.
how good are my chances?
