@Rockmandash12 is the CSU gpa supposed to be lower than what you have in school?? I swear i was getting higher values so i wasn’t sure.

When providing stats, don’t forget to include if your out of state. For in-state residents please include any of thses factors (which indicate your “high yield potential”) County of residence for CA. Private v. Public HS. Education level of your parents. If either parent is a VET. How many hours per week you participate in E/Cs and Work. (doesn’t matter what your EC is, just how many hours per week you do it.)

I hope my chances are good. Not many schools offer this major.

Good Luck to everyone who applied! 5-6 weeks until decisions come out! Exciting!

Does anyone know if we get notified by email or regular mail? Or do we have to sign in to the portal on 12/15?

In-state applicant

Hey guys, applied ED and was hoping someone could chance me.
I am an out of state student
I have a 4.27 Weighted GPA
I got a 30 Composite on my first ACT and I am awaiting my scores for another test.
I have taken 9 Honors classes, 3 AP classes, and will have taken 5 classes at the local college.
My average hrs/week over the course of 12 months is 1-5 for both work, and volunteer.
I am not sure how much this will affect my chances, but I also toured the school, and will be attending a college fair to speak to an admissions representative.

Thank you!

@socalgirl97 I was notified through the email I provided

Wow, I think we are all pretty similar. I applied ED as well and I am from out of state, which I think might hurt my chances. After looking at scatter plots I think I have about a 70/30 chance of getting in. Fingers crossed.

Major: Architectural Engineering (college of arch, not engineering)
GPA: UW- 3.6, W- 4.9,
SAT: Math-690 CR-590 (Good thing I’m interesting in engineering, am I right? haha)
Extracurriculars: 11-15 hours, Varsity swim captain, interested in continuing swimming in college
Job (not related to major): 21 hrs/week
44 hours of college credit by graduation (it’s a dual credit program offered by my school and the local college)

What do you guys think? Is it bad that I’m from out of state?

@roxy401 some people have said that being oos makes it a little easier to get in however there is no real proof to confirm this. Btw how do you have a 3.6 uw but a 4.9 w??? That doesnt seem possible

@will187651 Well I am from Texas and the GPA system is very, very different. The unweighted GPA is out of 4 and the weighted GPA is out of 5.

@roxy401 Yeah gpa is on the same scale over here but in order to get a 5.0 here u would have to have a 4.0 uw or in your case a 3.9+.

@will187651 oh, well it’s different here. I don’t know, but that’s how it is on my transcript.

@roxy401 have you calculated your CSU GPA? Cal Poly SLO takes grades from 9th to 11th grade. Here’s the calculator: <a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU;

@greenteagirl1997 Yeah… but since I’m from Texas there aren’t approved honors courses, so it’s the same as my UW GPA. At least that’s how I remember it when I filed my application a few weeks ago.

@roxy401 if you took any AP classes those could be counted, right?

OOS students can use AP classes for the extra 8 semesters of Honor points for the 10-11th grade only.

@greenteagirl1997 I only took one AP class. Most of my classes were what my school considered “honors” level and many classes at the local college. Hopefully they will notice all of the college courses I am enrolled in.

Applied ED
Mechanical Engineering

ACT: 35

GPA 9-11 weighted: 3.9

Chances?
