@roxy401 in state

Well it’s good your GPA is high because they are known to prioritize GPA over everything else but I still like it’s a reach for their engineering program.

I applied ED a few days ago.

Intended Major: Graphic Communications

SAT scores: 1150 (Math: 590 Critical Reading: 560)

weighted GPA: 4.08

unweighted GPA: 3.96

1 AP during junior year (our school is small and doesn’t offer very many honors/AP classes)
1 community college physics class (2 semesters)
2 AP’s this year (senior year)

In-state: Mendocino County, California

I attend a public HS

Both parents went to college/ neither parent is a vet.

1-5 hours of work, Yes related to major
21+ hours of EC’s, Yes leadership role in these EC’s

I realized that I didn’t put my CSU gpa on my application, I only put my unweighted which is actually 3.56… When I calculated my CSU GPA its 3.77… Ahhhhhh, hopefully they catch my mistake.

@roxy401 Don’t worry! They recalculate your gpa specifically for cal poly each time because they don’t use the CSU gpa plus people always get it wrong.

@will187651 Wow, perfect, thanks. I’m relived. I was looking at last years ED thread and people started to hear back on 12/5… I can’t wait. Did you apply Ed?

@roxy401 Yup and i know haha so early :-bd

@will187651 What major? Stats?

@roxy401 I’m post #18 haha

Oh I see, I think you will get in.

hopefully!

Computer Science

SAT: 1360
MATH: 780
READING: 580

CSU GPA: 4.06

Sophomore: Honors Pre-Calculus, Honors Chemistry
Junior: Honors Physics, Honors Spanish 4, AP Calculus AB & BC, AP Language, AP Computer Science, AP Physics
Senior: AP Statistics, AP Government, AP Micro/Macroeconomics

In-state

Chances?

Add to Senior: AP Literature and AP Chemistry (these are my next semester courses)

Im pretty nervous. Although my GPA is solid, my SAT is below the average and my class rigor is not the greatest compared to all you guys with like 5-10+ ap/honors classes. How competitive is the graphic communication major? Do you guys know anything about it?

@cr2015 your stats are within range.Looks like a match to me. Hopefully i’ll see you there!

@sdmrer the graphics communication major has a targeted acceptance rate of about 70%. This is basically how much SLO expects to accept.

@will187651 where did you find the projections? What is it for architectural engineering?

@will187651 thanks! And yeah hopefully!!

@roxy401 I got the pdf from one of the threads on here. For arch eng its about 53.6 %

It seems like way more people posted saying they applied early decision last year in the 2013- 2014 thread than this year in our 2014- 2015 thread… haha

Hopefully that is to our advantage…lol
