**OFFICIAL CAL POLY SLO 2014-2015 Early Decision**

Alright, so I don’t want to be “that” guy, but I feel like I have to say something. I think we’re all acting pretty immature about this whole thing. We’ve already done everything we could to try to get in, now it’s in admissions’ hands. Show some patience and the decisions will be in before you know it :)

@proudpolyparent Can you tell me what your son’s stats were who was accepted for Industrial Technology including class rigor and ECs. I am an Industrial Technology major waiting for Early Decision. Also do happen to know how many freshman they accepted last year overall? Thank you so much.

Chance my daughter: gpa 3.6
ACT: math 28, English 34, composite 31.
Political science major.

@nikkizee‌ Im not 100% sure, but by guessing, I would say more people applied, due to the fact that it is taking us so long to hear back!

My son had a 4.25 weighted GPA. His SATs were 660 math and 590 reading. His work experience was 6-10 hours per week and 16-20 hours per week in clubs/activities(swimming). I’ll check on the size of his freshman class and let you know.

I’m not sure about last years entering freshman numbers, but in 2012 it was 28 students and in 2013 it was 22 students. You can find more data by checking the Cal Poly Fact Book (do a google search). The 2014 Fact Book hasn’t been published yet.

Thank you @proudpolyparent. Do you know if he had work experience related to the major and leadership in ECs and did he max out the points for class rigor up to 750 points? (10 semesters of math, 8 science, 6-8 language, 4 arts?) I am just trying to get an idea of how my points compare. I have a higher test score but a lower GPA. I looked at the Fact Book too but was wondering about 2014. Thank you so much for the information.

@wishforcalpoly. What did your daughter have for class rigor? You can get up to 500 points for 5 years of math, or 100 extra points for 5 years of English, 200 points for 4 years of lab science, 50 points for 2 years of arts. Also did she have any EC hours and leadership in ECs or work experience related to major. These things all add points. If she has any of these extra points I think she has a good chance.

She only has 100 extra points for class rigor. She has 25 hrs for Ec’s. She is in ASB, president of model un, and varsity track scholar athlete 3 yrs. unfortunately Cal Poly doesn’t look at that though.

Yes, his work experience was related to the major. He was team captain (leadership). He had 10 semesters of math, 8 semesters of lab science, 6 semesters of foreign language. He only had 2 semesters of art. Good luck!

@wishforcalpoly. I found this for you from last year’s acceptances. I think your daughter is in!

Accepted ED!
Political Science
3.65 GPA Weighted
1180 SAT/26 ACT

Thank you. That’s encouraging. Hoping they start letting people know today.

yes

let the anger flow through you

“Cal Poly admits most immature class ever”

@MaddieLG can you tell me where you found the ED stats for last year? I have not been able to find any ED stats. ?Are there ED stats available for 2013 also?
