Has anyone heard about economics majors? i’m still in limbo, and the search function won’t find anything
have computer science majors heard back? I just got waitlisted.
female civil engineer major
just got waitlisted
originally transferred from Cosumnes River College in Sacramento and transferred to Cal Poly Pomona for Fall 2014. Cal Poly SLO has always been my #1 but got rejected for Fall 2014 and decided to try again for Fall 2015
It seems to me like the timeline for waitlisting students came a lot faster this year. I recall most transfer getting wait listed at the same time mid March in 2014.
I was waitlisted last year and didn’t get in; I decided to apply again this year. I haven’t even been wait listed yet, so I assume I’m rejected, which seems strange.
How the hell do I go from wait listed to rejected a year later with much better stats?
So is anyone still getting acceptances or is it just waistlists now?
@johanna8 There are probably a few acceptances still leaking out, but chances are its WL or rejection.
So, I’m going to tentatively assume they’re still in the process of releasing acceptance letters for certain majors. I’m making this assumption on the fact that NONE of my classmates nor I have heard of any decisions made in the wine and vit department. I’ve been combing through the incoming Freshman transfers but no one seems to have posted a response. The closest thing I can see anything to has been AgriBusiness. There are many flaws in this assumption but I’m holding out hope.
CisTrans, My son was waitlisted for Wine and Vit yesterday. They only accepted 7 transfers this year. Cal Poly posted their projections today. This should answer a lot of the questions and second guessing. Good luck to all. http://www.ir.calpoly.edu/content/publications_reports/targets/index
@michelle0626 Wait, shouldn’t you be almost done by now? I’m assuming you only need 1 year since you’ve transferred previously. I think it’s better to just get your degree at cpp. Or am I totally wrong?
@fckngoomba I have a total of 2 years to go not including spring quarter. I have to work to pay bills so I can’t take on much more than 12 units a quarter
@michelle0626 Ooooh I see. Ya my bad >_<. Good luck.
I was accepted but I am afraid I will fail one of my courses. Should I drop the class? Will it affect my admission? Please get back to me. I am a Crop Science Major, the class I am worried about is Botany which is a Desired course.
@df1972 Call and ask admissions what you should do, preferably a counselor. They are usually accepting you on the basis of you passing listed courses.
@statsmom where did you see the only 7 transfers accepted? I am seeing over 800 (Projected)
…In my son’s major. I was replying to a specific question about wine and vit.

Congratulations! Did you just find out this morning?
Been stalking this thread and last years thread for a while. I just got waitlisted TODAY. I’ve checked my portal multiple times a day since the start of acceptances. My major is Environmental Engineering.

ME transfer from Cuesta
GPA - 3.73
all required/desired completed by end of current semester

(however for ME’s the cal poly website says: "it is not expected that transfer students to this major [mechanical engineering] will have full completion of all GE-Breadth or IGETC requirements. English Composition and Speech are mandatory requirements.)
