^^ @zoey1996, do you know if that was ED? because that would be weird if they only admitted one

Hello all. In state Biomedical Engineering major still waiting to hear my decision.

Stats:
Weighted GPA: 4.5
Unweighted: 3.86
SAT: 2060/2400
ACT: 33/36
Also president of the biggest service club on campus and part of a robotics group. Doesn’t seem like SLO counts for much of that unfortunately but figured I’d include it anyways.

But figured I would add my stats to the list. Hoping to get my decision soon. Good luck to all and congrats to those who have already been accepted.

@justin7473 - Pretty sure it was regular decision because they were tweeted like 20 minutes ago & ED decision came out in Dec so it would be weird for them to randomly tweet it now. I just searched the hashtag “cal poly” on twitter and their tweets popped up from California. Although, to qualify for in-state you have to live in CA for two years so it’s possible they just moved here and don’t qualify for in-state so they’re categorized as out of state. You never know though. It’s still all really confusing.

I did a quick search of Twitter and saw recent posts from HS seniors in Austin, TX , Oconee County, GA and Issaquah, WA say they were accepted.

Just got a text message from the school to check admission status, and…

Admitted!!

Out of State

Major: Civil Engineering
CSU GPA:
W: 4.07
UW: 3.89
ACT: 29 Composite (24E 30M 27R 35S 8/12W)
Will graduate with 7 AP classes.

Other schools applied to:
SJSU, Cal State Long Beach (admitted), Cal Poly Pomona (admitted w/possible honors), Utah (admitted) , Case Western (denied), U of South Florida (admitted)

I honestly didn’t think that I was going to be admitted…so I had my heart pretty much set on CPP… Wow these decisions are tough.

Congrats @coastercrutch. My son applied to many of the same schools you did and he just moved here before turning 18 to become a resident and get better opportunities in Engineering than he had in GA and FL (prepaid college eligible). Good luck with your decisions.

I am also wondering whether these are a new wave of decisions or if this is the same wave of decisions that was released yesterday, but these are people that didn’t check their portals last night. I read something about text messages and emails being sent? Possibly all of their portals were updated yesterday, but they didn’t check their portals until today because Cal Poly sent out email/text notifications to check today and not yesterday?

OOS- NJ
My son just got a text message at 3:45 PM EST
Portal shows:
Admitted
Sociology
SAT 1260/1810
3.65GPA UW
2 AP Classes
8 schools so far accepted to.
Big decisions to make with wonderful choices
Surprised but delighted he got in with the selective admittance and OOS.
Good luck to all!

ACCEPTED to Software Engineering (Which now I am regretting because I wanted CompSci)
GPA: 3.1 Uw
ACT: 26 when I applied, 29 now.
State: MO

So weird because I got a text message…

@Aqualh Congrats on your acceptance! I’m a Comp Sci hopeful- but from what I heard from my tour guide at SLO is that it’s relatively easy to switch majors that are somewhat similar disciplines. I’m sure if you’re really keen on Computer Science it wouldn’t be to much hassle to transfer to CS! good luck!

Well it sounds like admissions are still rolling out over the weekend… has anyone tracked how many of the CP Depts. have been released to this point?? That may give us a clue to how close they are to done with oos and then they will (we hope) release in state.

@joyful1 since i saw that there is someone who said got in for sociology, that means they are almost done with the majors list http://admissions.calpoly.edu/prospective/majors.html

@minicooper3 @joyful1 I don’t think it’s processed in that order seeing as wine/viniculture and nutrition majors were accepted much earlier and I’ve already heard of a software engineer as well- I have a good feeling in state applicants will not find out until after the Presidents’ Day weekend

D just got word she was admitted Computer Engineering
GPA UW 3.82, GPA W 4.7, ACT 35.

@iulianc is your D OOS or in-state?

Accepted: Architecture
Stats:

ACT: 33 (35M,32S, 33 everything else)
GPA: 4 UW
IB Program so 6 IB classes, 2 AP tests last year (US History 5, English Lang 5)
State: NJ
First acceptance! Waiting for USC, Cornell, Cooper Union, Syracuse, & Rice

@IsaacSF Thanks! I appreciate it!

Guys Is it weird for me to have been accepted with such low stats as a 3.1 and 26??

@bkallday1 yes, WA

@Aqualh, with the research I have been doing on Calpoly I would say yes, your stats are on the lower side. But with all csu’s the minimum gpa is 3.0. So, congratulations for getting in. You mentioned your 3.1 is your gpa, what is it weighted? You also mentioned that your took another ACT and got a 29, did you send that better score in after you summited your application? Did you take any AP classes?

@gotoslo My school doesn’t have AP/IB/Honors, and therefore we don’t have weighted :(. And I have only taken College courses my entire high school career. In fact I am only 1 semester shy of a Computer Information Systems Associates degree and no I never sent in my 29 ACT.
