still waiting for BME. no changes in portal.

Looks like we will get to 100 pages on this thread before the bulk of notices go out.

@grudger could you please post stats?

I don’t think it has anything to do with minorities or schools. I am a Mexican girl going into Computer Science, if that gave me an advantage, I would’ve gotten in. And my school is among the top in California so my stats aren’t being lowered.

No decision has been posted yet on my cal poly account. Is that a bad sign? The majority of my classmates received decisions during February, and I heard that rejected students are usually the last to receive their decisions.

Sounds like no new news today
. Earlier I remember someone called the admittance office and said that they hope to have all acceptances done by this friday

Does anyone know how the alternate major thing works? My first choice is Biology and my alternate is Animal Science and my portal hasn’t changed.
I called admissions on Monday, and they didn’t give me any solid information.

SLO does not consider alternate majors. Sorry

@Gumbymom That seems a little odd to have an option on the application for an alternate major and not even consider it.

I think that since all the CSU’s use the same application and other CSU’s do consider the alternate major, the option is just left there. My son applied ED as Computer Science and put Software Engineering as an alternate. He emailed admissions when he was rolled over for RD asking if his application was considered for his alternate major during the ED evaluation. Admissions emailed him back stating they do not consider alternative majors but since he was rolled over to RD, he could officially change his major by Jan 15 which he did but still not decision.

Well this is it everyone. 2 more days…Time to pack it up and abandon this thread.

@TSchaser they will still go out even after the two days

I went online and it said “during peak times pages will continue to load.” what does that mean?

I think from here out it’s all wait-lists and rejections. hope i’m wrong

Standard period of acceptances is 3 weeks. That period is ending friday, which is their goal to wrap up normal acceptances. If your counting waitlist then yeah sure we have quite a while left. But based on past years results, SLO is over-enrolled and the waitlist is a shot in the dark for anxious applicants.

Love the school, love the area, love the community. But we’re approaching the time for rejections and if you haven’t heard anything yet, there’s a pretty good chance you are either rejected/waitlisted. Not gonna hold out and hope for another month when there are plenty of other schools out there. This board is extremely passionate about SLO, hell we have 100 pages and almost what 250k+ views? over the span of a month or so. But at some point in the near future, a lot of us are going to have to let go, and thats a fact.

^ entirely true. there’s always the transfer option next year

From past experience, if you haven’t heard, then yes…it is a rejection. And, rejections will be blasted out Friday night.

@hellogoodbye111

GPA: 3.2

Not the best stats, and also not expecting to get into Cal Poly. Just want to know already so I can stop worrying!

And I applied to CompSci, which probably doesn’t help my chances. :

plan B it is

Don’t give up hope, I am sure not going to

For everyone saying that they don’t consider alternate majors, my friend got in last Friday for her alternate so i think they do
