I say the longer they wait to release the better it is for those who might be on the borderline of being accepted. That is because many other universities have already sent out acceptance notices and anxious kids are not waiting for the rest they applied to. Kids that wait may lose out on dorm space at another school. My son said kids at his school are making their selections and not waiting. Every decline is one more kid from the wait list.
@eyemgh do you happen to know the projected acceptance rate for nutrition and food science?
@Charri39, see post #195. Find your major and the number of expected FTF target (full time freshmen). Multiply that by three and divide it by the number of FTF applicants. That’ll give you your percentage.
I called yesterday afternoon and was told that they weren’t finished making decisions yet. The lady said to check the portal next week. I wonder why they are releasing decisions so much later this year than previously…
@peterg123 because Donna Amos retired this year
I thought the admissions was all done by computers at SLO
@eyemgh Cal poly is only projecting 97 transfers for the business major according to that link #195?
For all the students worrying about this, refreshing the page every 5 mins, I was in your situation last year and just want you guys to know that it will work out in the end. Cal poly was by far my #1 last year and I sadly was rejected, but now, a year later, I could not have wished for a better situation. If Cal Poly doesn’t work out for you, yes there will be a mourning period, but ultimately, wherever you go, you will be happy. So from a student that has gone through what you are going through right now, just take a breather and relax
LOL @justin7473! I am a parent refreshing this page every 5 minutes. My D just applied to UCs and Cal Poly SLO and Cal Poly Pomona. She got in CPP, but everything else is taking so damn long. So many of her friends have already committed and it is crazy how long this wait is!!!
haha, parents, too, have to relax. as I said, wherever your daughter decides to go, she will be happy
Thanks for the words of encouragement @justin7473. Where did you end up going?
I actually ended up at SRJC, only got into chico and didn’t want to go there. It is a very nice JC, and viewed very highly by many universities. From what I’ve heard, it used to be a feeder school for Berkeley (don’t quote me on that), and they have good connections with Cal Poly, even have several workshops for the supplemental app. won’t transfer until 2017, so i’ll be in this graduating class.
Is anyone else having a hard time getting to the admission status? I’m able to log in but nothing after that.
@justin7473 I remember you from last year. So glad to hear things worked out for you, and you are living proof that you are often happy where you end up in college! Best wishes in your future plans and decision. Nice post for waiting applicants - so true! Hope you are a Mustang in a couple of years if that remains your wish.
@Wishforcalpoly I’m still able to access the admission status, maybe its the connection the computer you’re on has with the internet?
Another day with no answers
@joogman23, yes, that is correct, 97 for the whole business school. That means they’ll likely accept a little under 300 hundred, assuming their 33% yield holds. That’s about 18% across the whole college. Remember, those were last year’s projections.
So according to this reddit post: http://www.reddit.com/r/CalPoly/comments/2wbtkt/for_prospective_students_letters_are_going_out_on/
Letters will be sent out on Sunday. I’d assume they would update the portal either this Friday or next week. Apparently the link won’t work so just replace the asterisks with reddit.
The staff isn’t there on Sundays… unless they are making an exception for decisions week.
What about the fact that mail doesn’t get delivered on Sundays lol
