@CalPolyCS: Reach for CS. Other than ME, CS has the most applicants and is one of the most competitive majors in the School of Engineering. Your Stats are below average
I suppose that I mean to ask whether or not there is any real possibility that I get in with those stats or if it’s not worth getting my hopes up. Any thoughts?
You still have a chance
Heard multiple things about when cal poly releases their acceptances/rejections, I know they state they come out BY April 1st. I have heard they come out mid-February to mid-March, does major impact when you will be accepted/rejected?
@Reducto Do a search of “class of 2018” above. You will find that acceptances started coming out around mid-February last year. Day or two to release OOS results first (smaller applicant pool) and then instate by alphabetical list of colleges: ag, arch, etc. Spread out by days not months with transfer students notified a little later.
2 years ago my older son got his acceptance on February 14. Last year my younger son got his denial on March 12. They leave the rejections to the bitter end.
Kidda wish they would send rejections now so we can get on with deciding what other college to attend.
I agreee @Luckmomof3: My younger son applied ED, so he was waiting since December for any sign of an acceptance. I really do not see why they have to drag it out while so many of the UC’s, like UCD,UCSB,UCLA etc… will do their acceptances, waitlisted and denials all on the same day.
I applied ED and got deferred, what do you guys think my chances are of getting in RD?

Hi could someone tell me my chances for Cal Poly?
Major: Political Science
SAT: 2140 (1460 CR + M)
GPA: 3.8 (3.56 CSU GPA)
3.56 GPA? chuckle, chuckle
Not a chance
@willtram23 I dont agree with Nick. If you were an Engineering major you would not have a chance but as a Political Science major I would say you have a less then 50/50 but still a chance. Good luck
@Luckymomof3 I would actually say that he has about a 60% chance because although his gpa is slightly low, his SAT is well above average for his major. He has a lot of potential. Clear eyes, full hearts. SLOmies > everything
can someone chance me too? I am an OOS student and I will be full pay
